Cheap Quick CIS Injector Cleaning / Tester

    Hooked this up last night to test my fuel injectors.

    Parts Required

    4' Length of 3/8" ID Fuel Hose
    2 Hose Clamps
    Air Compressor with Air Gun
    Fuel Container

    Simply clamp the injector to one end of the hose, and the air gun to the other end. Prior to clamping the air gun, hold the hose vertically, and fill it with fuel, or carb cleaner etc.

    Pressing the air gun trigger should produce a normal spray pattern out of the injector.

    The symptom I was having was rough, uneven running. Cleaning the fuel injectors fixed her right up, and now she's purring again !

    Not really sure what the air pressure was. The air gun I have is variable. I just barely had to press it to get the injector to start squirting. So maybe 20 - 30 lb's ? The compressor tank had 100 PSI on the gauge.

    Perhaps a fuel pressure gauge could be added to the jig.
