This is an interesting " Hellaflush Stance" subculture in Japan. Their favorite car of show was the treatment of the slammed Mondial. Spotlight JDM: Hardcore Tokyo and +81 LIKE Hellaflush Stance This quote reinforces the notion to me that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. "And rounding out the day, our FAVORITE car at the show – this late 80s Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Cabriolet..... it looks magnificent. We’d certainly rock the hell out of it." -I personally felt the guy ruined it, but hey "Different strokes for different folks." What is Hellaflush & Stance? What is Hellaflush and Stance? - PakWheels Blog Btw also I had been invited to local car show here in the bay area. The Mondial got second! Image Unavailable, Please Login
haha - I can only imagine. I'm glad they enjoy it! Though I just can't see how you can drive them at any reasonable speed!!!
Yikes. That thing is a nightmare. Funnily, I love seeing nicely modded/outlawed Porsches. The guys at Emory, Singer, etc all do amazing work. The 356 and 911 seem more moldable to someone's personal vision to me. I think they're more of a blank canvas, although I usually prefer them original as well. In contrast, I've only seen one obviously modded Ferrari I thought looked great, and that was McQueen's 275 NART Spyder. Other than than, I think pretty much everything the Italians make leaves the factory looking the best that it will ever look. Tricking them out, even changing the wheels (sorry guys) always seems to detract from the beauty of the car for me.
Looks really cool, but I'd never want mine like that. I admire the "art" of it. Hate the silver gauge surrounds- looks kinda like a Fiero painted that color... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isn't it interesting that with subtle colour changes the Mondials delightful interior with its fine architecture can be made a visually re-orchestrated into something that is truly Gopping!
Exhaust looks unique as well as the custom rear bumper. Being a Euro owner the detail in tucking in the lights and exhaust into their own "pockets" looks more late 90's then late 80s.
