Getting back to the original toot toot !

    I just replaced an aftermarket set of horns with original ones I had in stock. These are still new and after having tested the horn compressor first, I installed these by removing the front grill.

    One extra thing I did was to tighten the end of the black tubes that fit on the horns with some clamps as you can see on the pics. This is to prevent the tubes from loosening after a while.

    HAHA!! I have the original horns on my 85 QV.

    The first place I took the car to for a state inspection -- failed me due to the horns being too loud. They wouldn't budge on the failure, no matter how much I tried to explain that they are original equipment!!

    Found another place, where the inspector was an old-car guy. He passed me with no problem.

    Looks like the originals were made of china (porcelain), now they're in plastic ...
