is there a reason, other then originality, why a normal MSD type coil cannot be used (2) in place of the Ferrari type used? 1984 Mondial QV cab.

Just finished my restoration of a 73 Jensen Healey, wish I would have learned about double overhead cam engines on this one, instead of cutting my teeth on the Mondial. This was a rust free example that was in storage for 30+ years, serial number is 1973 #001. Back to work on the Mondial again, if you haven't noticed my recent increase in rookie questions.

Thanks to all for your help moving forward

You could probably make the MSD work, but you might have to cut the wiring harness connectors off. I wouldn't do it.

That's nice! Make sure to check the oil in the carbs.

Bought Nicks XDI ignition then sold old components to offset cost. Very sweet set up that will last for years.
