They don't call them Sweet for nothing! I had a Classic 22 in and around the Destin area. Good times indeed.
I took this pic of some kids having fun off Miami Beach way back in the 70s. Is this a DONZI? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I owned a beautiful 1995 "sweet 16" for 10 years. Sold it in 2010 for exactly what I paid for it. Still have my 2000 - 28zf. Great boats. Will post pics later
I thought the sweet sixteen came only witht he 305 V8. The 18 comes witht he 5.7 and 6.2 Always loved Donzis, but love to watershki and these are the wrong boat for that.
Mine had a Chevy 4.3 liter v6 vortec motor with a Mercruiser alpha out drive. Here's a crappy picture of a nice photo Image Unavailable, Please Login
my boat came from michigan (2yrs ago ) was able to contact the original owner (joe ) who told me he went to the detroit boat show in 1995 to order a donzi 16 and was told he could not get the 16 with a v8, leaving the donzi display disappointed ; a gentleman came up to him and asked if there was a problem.. joe told him he came to buy a 16 with the v8, the gentleman introduced himself as a vp with donzi and proceeded to take the order with the 5.7 . he said they did not want to sell such a small boat with the v8, fearing people might get into trouble with the extra power. you are right , there is hardly room for anything ,including water skis !
see you had the wraparound bench seat , the 2+3 seating came later (1995 i think ) looks like you enjoyed it !
Here is my contribution. 1987 Classic 22. Spent virtually it's whole life on Lake Tahoe. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 18' is a great boat. All of the DONZI Classic series boats (16', 18', 22') are awesome and somewhat unique boats. Google search Donzi Classic 18 for images and tons of info.
I like having the 22 Classic, but I still wish kept my 20 Minx (google them the best small Donzi ever made). Get pictures latter, have a border issue importing the trailer, said screw it and keep it in Washington at a marina.
