    Are any of you fellows used a cell phone signal amplifier on boats here? I am trying to get some ideas as to how effective it is for cruising close to the shore lines?

    there are several out there, take your pick, they all work good enough...

    the signal is a line of sight signal, like the FM marine radio, proper gain antenna for best signal and reception and height above the water for best distance

    Plus some kind of "ground plane", often incorporated into the best antennas.
