It apparently was a Modena driven at high speed. Pics here: http://forums.dieselstation.com/index.php?showtopic=35958&pid=524086&st=0&#entry524086
I knew him well...a friend and client for many years. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family...RIP!
I think "jamming it tightly between the trees", was the actual factor. But no matter......a lot of times the post mortem in these cases will show a medical event of some sort.... Or a pelican??? Image Unavailable, Please Login
WTF is WRONG with people, read the FB comments on the news story.....? The guy's kids and neighbors are on the thread and they are saying "nice car" and stupid stuff.... PITA.....
Well, your snarky comments weren't exactly sombre and respectful either. How about a simple, "I hope he didn't suffer and RIP and condolences to those close to him?"
oh that's horrible .. the pic looks residential so maybe there were other factors involved besides speed. very sad RIP.
Dude, I work at the Shriners Burn Hospital at UTMB Galveston, one thing I can ASSURE you is that he suffered terrible pain and anguish before he left Earth. Unless he was dead, already.
Steve, my condolences to you and the family again John, it seems to be a commonality amongst all the exotics. No doubt the extra light weight materials are that much more flammable
Its because more people take photos of burned exotics. I don't think it has anything to do with them being ferraris. Plenty of cars burn everyday in accidents. You just don't see them all on a forum everytime it happens.
we all make little mistakes driving our Ferraris. Maybe he was just unlucky this one time. Before we blame, could have been anyone.
Hot exhaust in proximity to fuel tank and fuel lines that spill fuel onto the hot surface(s) when ruptured. The cars are designed to "split" just behind the passenger compartment, but one of the consequences is that lines are frequently ruptured. Jagged pieces often puncture the fuel tank too.
Why would you post this here? Why not leave it alone, or allow for the fact that he may have been knocked unconscious so he did not feel this excruciating pain? We all know how painful even mild burns are. No need to dwell on it here. No need to subject his family and friends to your profound, in-depth experience in such matters. And then you wonder what's up with the people who post asinine comments. Some things are better left unsaid. Show a little class...dude.
