This time around we're doing something new… taking a drive. We'll meet at 10 am at our usual spot across from the AMC theaters on Flutie pass in Framingham and set out at 10:30 for the Wayside Inn in Sudbury. This is a great chance to photograph your car in front of some beautiful backdrops.

The inn is happy to have us there and we’re welcome to park behind the inn by taking their service rd. that leads you to a larger lot in the back. Feel free to bring your family along or have them meet you there. My wife and little boy will meet me there later for a picnic on the grounds and some fun at the grist mill. The inn will be serving brunch if you want to make a reservation and the bar is open for drinks and pub food.

The route planned takes us down Rte 9 for a bit and off into Framingham towards the back side of Callahan State park down some roads with dips and bends that are wide enough not to scare you like Nixon Rd if you are familiar with the area. It’s just under 12 miles and 30 minutes. You're welcome to take any road you want, but after scouting them out these are the most fun.

    The route: http://goo.gl/maps/WjdJ

    About the Wayside Inn
Longfellow's Wayside Inn—a nationally significant Massachusetts Historic Landmark—is the oldest Inn still operating in the United States and has been serving travelers along the old Boston Post Road for almost 300 years. What began as a two-room home in 1707, the Howe family ran a successful tavern and innkeeping business on this site from 1716 to 1861.

The Inn serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch to compliment your exploration of the property's 125 scenic acres.

We encourage people to take advantage of the unstructured layout of our village-like campus—to walk the fields and trails, explore the Longfellow Garden, tour the Inn, Mill, and Schoolhouse, or sit for a picnic lunch next to Hop Brook. The Wayside Inn was formerly known as the Howe Tavern, and was operated by four generations of that one family from 1716 to 1861. Wander westward, towards the Schoolhouse and Grist Mill, over the old stone bridge, and take a walk through history!

Hope to see all of the regulars there

You know how these things are- you never know.

Seems to me like September is the best driving time around here- Perfect weather, everyone is in town...

Sorry guys. New baby and lots of projects have kept me away. That and the new stub axle hub and carrier needed for the 308. And the refinishing of the wheels. And the rebuilding of the cv joints and the rebuilt calipers. I won't be on the road until late may. I'm happy to send emails to the members whenyou have a place and time.

    Steve
