Question here: I'm based in Quebec City. I always dreamed of driving down to Portland, Maine with my 328 or TR. Might do it this summer. The foodie scene over there is so great! If I ever need assistance for one of my mistress downeast where do I sent the flatbed with either one on it in the area? I'm armed with my CAA/AAA card! Reccomendation, anyone? TIA
Fwiw, I believe AAA Plus gives you 100 miles of towing, if that helps broaden your scope along your travels.
You might talk to Dave Feinberg at Ferrari Service of Bedford, NH. Ferrari Service of Bedford About - Ferrari Service of Bedford I'd talk to him before your trip to see if he would have time to help you if you have a problem. These guys are typically pretty busy and just showing up isn't a good idea.
There are a number of qualified places around Maine, NH and MA. And, there are a bunch of enthusiasts in the area that would also lend a hand if need be.
That Route 201 from the border at Jackman, Maine down through Bingham / Skowhegan area is a nice road. Not sure about the current condition because it gets some logging traffic, but back when I used to drive it it was always a pleasure. The Route from the border at Coburn Gore, south of Lac Megantic, Route 27 (the Benedict Arnold Trail) is also pretty nice.
Around Maine...... There are some very qualified shops in NH and in MA for sure. I can't speak for any shops in ME.
Auto Lab on Warren Avenue in Portland (Auto Restoration Maine | Car Restoration, Antique Auto Restoration, Portland, ME) can diagnose and fix most 308/328 issues. I know the guys there really well. If its a major issue send your car to South Easton Ma to IFS (Independent Ferrari Service and Sales | Auto Repair and Dealer in South Easton, MA 02375) John Tirrell. Probably the best Ferrari mechanic in Eastern USA.
