Is anyone going? And are there special Ferrari parking at the race? Thanks much Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll be going. Four miles from my house! No set FCA drive and park on the FCA calendar like their was for World Challenge weekend. Not sure if the track will have something.
Ok great. I will most likely be driving up from NJ in the F430. I haven't been to lime rock during a race before, so I want to make sure I dont park in the mud like it usually is for spectators at Watkin Glen
I went to the vintage races in the fall and was told I had to park my Ferrari in a field outside the track. They were selling infield parking and it was sold out. I had no interest in parking in the dirt and was eventually allowed entrance. Since I was a kid I've enjoyed the spectator's cars in the infield. Lime Rock has decided that this is a new revenue source. I'm not interested in paying extra to be in speciality car parking. My speciality car will remain home in the future. You may want to call the track before you go.
On Lime Rock's website regrding car corrals and such: IMSA Car Corrals & Upgraded Experiences | Lime Rock Park
No problem. I'll definitely be going if anybody would like to meet up and grab a beer at the track or at the Falls Village Inn afterwards.
Went today in my Corvette. No problem parking in infield and parked in the Corvette Corral. It was unmonitored and no additional charge. Seemed to be the same with the other various corrals. Very busy today. If you get there early, you shouldnt have a problem parking inside. Its a small paddock and fills-up quickly though. I actually like parking in the outfield along the front straight. MUCH quicker getting in and out of track on race day, and a quick walk over the front straight bridge to get to the paddock.
Yup. It was not a problem because I got there early But once the infield is full, you had to park outside, but they have large shuttle golf carts. People who came late in the day before the main GTLM GTD race were able to park in the infieldsa bunch of people left after the Continental Challenge race ended around 2pm
Yes, i went both days. There is no extra charge for parking in the infield. Ive been going to Lime Rock since I was in high school, and have raced (and won) there on big race weekends like Trans Am on Memorial Day, and can never remember them charging extra to park in the infield.
Here is the language from link above on infield parking: Guaranteed Infield Parking: Though General Admission includes parking at no additional cost, how close you park to the spectator area depends on what time you arrive. On race day, Saturday, 7/22, you may purchase this pass that guarantees you parking inside the track. When you park inside the track, you are close to the spectator area, which is very convenient for families - or just for those that would prefer a guaranteed easy walk with your stuff! Guaranteed Infield Parking passes are $25 per car, and available only in advance. You can pay for GUARANTEED infield parking. Otherwise it's open for free until it's full. Like I said, i parked in the Corvette Coral in the infield for free on Friday, and same for Saturday.
I thought i answered it, but also saw language that clarified the parking policy for infield so thought I would share. But yes, myself and all of the other folks that met-up parked in the infield on Saturday for no extra charge. Showed our general admission tickets and drove on in.
Yes, you answered my question. I was just clarifying why I asked. At a prior event I was told the infield was full and when I got inside there was lots of space for parking. I was under the impression that the infield was always "full" and the only way to get in was by buying a $25 ticket. I'm glad to hear that's not the case.
