In order to win a car at auction, you have to be the highest bidder.

If there are other bidders in the room, then that, by definition, means you are the ONLY person in the room that doesn't think you paid too much for the car.

So, often, it is not easy to get a high quality car cheaply at an auction.

If you're looking at a depreciating asset lease it

If it's an appreciating asset buy it

But if it floats, flies, or Fxx RENT IT!!!!

Are you only looking at used cars or also new? The question of buy versus lease depends on SO many variables - residual on the car, interest rates offered for the car and for your credit, length of finance/lease term, etc., special finance/lease offering by a dealership/manufacturer. Also, if you buy a new car, sometimes there are tax credits passed on to the lessee that can lower the sales price.

Welcome but can we be clear: are you looking to lease your first Ferrari which will a used car you bought at auction ?

I have to tell you in the UK leasing used cars is not very frequent and to buy your first Ferrari at a used car auction in the hope of getting it cheap is not a sound plan

If you tell us more about what you want to achieve we might be able to guide you better
