My gf was parked near my apt. on the Upper West Side in a rental car... Got an expired meter ticket at 7:43 a.m. on a Saturday... Her name is nowhere on the ticket of course... It's only $35 so I was just gonna pay it and be done with it, but I thought I'd see if anyone had any views on this first... If it doesn't get paid, the rental company gets a notice and tracks her down, charging her credit card the fine + penalties, right...?

Yes, she will get charged, plus what ever fee the rental company adds to collect the penalty.

go to town hall with 35 dollars in pennies. That will teach them to give you a ticket! But yeah, probably just pay it....

Ha ha, I wish. At least that would have been worth it. It was a Ford Escort or something retarded like that.... And who gives a parking ticket at a meter at 7:43 in the MORNING on a SATURDAY?!?! Give me a break...

But yeah, I'm just paying the damn thing...

DON'T PAY THE FINE IN PENNIES! Ask Rob about doing that one.

I've had three dismissed so far. all three were accidental violations or bogus.

    For parking tickets,
http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/html/parking/park_tickets_dispute.shtml is a wonderful resource...pay close attention to the PDF on required information for a ticket to be valid. If it isn't, you go Scott free.

Ha ha ha... Should've checked on that, but no, I don't think this is another instance of Hovik's auto-karma :D

Just being nice... She was coming up to visit me... She paid for the plane ticket (works in FL at the moment), rental car, other parking... Just trying to help her out.

Haven't posted here in a while. Hi. :)
I passed ezpass 2 times, also pretty sure I was photographed speeding in rental car. Each time I was sure I'd hear from rental company pretty soon, but a good year + I have not heard from them. I'm renting under a large account however so it may be different if it was individual. Probably better to pay something that was left on the car though just to avoid any hassle in case.

    lol... good one!

Btw... I just got a letter from the rental company where I rented a car a month ago, requiring me to pay a parking ticket that was issued when I had the car. I checked the ticket online and it is a fire hydrant ticket, given right in front of my house. That spot is a 50/50% chance for a ticket, and I have never got one the last 3 years that I've been parking there. Had to be with the rental car.
Now the messed up part is that I've never seen that ticket. It wasn't on my windshield. So either somebody took it, or the cop who issued it was extremely lazy to get out of the car so he just wrote it and drove away... btw.. it was issued at 6AM.
Anyways... another $115 to Uncle Sam, or should I say Uncle Bloomberg.. :D
