Carroll Shelby ,Dan Gurney , Bruce McClaren and John Surtees...were not in the Hamptons this weekend..
    But I was!
    Picture taking
With my new 1965 427 Kirkham Cobra..
Saturday was the day to get out and put the pedal down..
OMG...Took my son out all day from BH to Montauk and made some big noise.
Our pioneer forefathers from Bridgehampton had it good!!
The Bars, The Hotels, The Main streets.
Image the buzz that surrounded the south fork each race...Mindblowing for such a small isolated location..must have been off the charts for car enthusiasts.
and no, This is not an advertisement to sell my car,,

Ahh - the "Bridge" - I remember it, although not as much as I do Trenton...still a sad loss of a circuit.

Great pics, love the car - enjoy it!

Nice pictures and nice locations for the photo shoot!

I had the pleasure of driving Bridgehampton at a VSCCA event around 1995 or so just before it closed down and I still remember the "Yeehah" feeling of taking Turn 2 flat out (okay, it was in a small bore Turner!) and also seeing Buddy Cooperberg's nose from his Lola fly off ahead of me on the main straight, continue up and over my head and then land on the tarmac behind me. There was only a brief "Oh, ****!" moment before I realized that the nose was going up pretty high and the best thing to do was to keep my foot down and go under it.

Afterward, Bob Akin hosted a nice party for the club at his house high up on Montauk and socialized tremendously with all the guests.

Sadly, both the Bridge and Bob are gone now.

Alot of people might think a Chrome looking car is Too Much Bling..
I do for one...Thats the social side of me..
most people dont know chrome from polished Aluminum
Maybe its OK for 50 cent, p diddy etc...
But the mechanical appreciation side of me says:
Do you have any Idea how much work and what a masterpiece of Aluminum structure you are looking at?
To get a consistent mirror finish wth no visible seams is quite a feat..Beyond comprehension really, the amount of labor that is expended here
    hats off to David Kirkham..
