Heard that some are getting invites from the Americana Concours. Has anyone here gotten one?
So you don't think not a single person reads this section, I have not received mine yet ;-). Gotta love the NY Tri-state section, it's just so robust.
Or maybe the people who read this section didn't get an invite... Either way, I was thinking there might be a reply inside a week. FWERRRF.
I got mine a few weeks ago. Already registered. Love this show. For some reason this thread was not in bold meaning it wasn't read by me yet. Not sure why sometimes threads are in bold and sometimes they are not.
I also registered. It is a great day and they really treat their entrants like gold. We've been going every year.
Last year was a real hassle to get all four Spykers in, but we managed. Will not go there any more with the promise of a space alone...
I received a letter yesterday confirming that my 328 has been selected for judging this year. Maybe 4th time is a charm . Most likely not, but it is a nice event if the weather holds out.
I gave it a go. They didn't want the Scuderia, Maranello or the Testarossa. Is there a trick to getting a car accepted for judging? I will be there regardless would just like to prep one of the cars and experience having one in the show one day.
They are more to the eclectic side and seem to shy away from "newer" cars. Each year I try to register my '93 Mercedes 500e and they religiously dump it. They apparently don't understand that it has somewhat of a special place in the pecking order and that there would be interest in having it there. They accept my 308 every year but sometimes ask for photos first.
I'm not sure what they are looking for in the concours. I submitted my 360 Spider gate shift car but was denied. It won Platinum at Cavallino. I also offered other cars of like condition but was denied as well. Anybody know what they want at the concours? Are they looking for vintage cars?
The Ford GT was "welcomed". Don't know what they're looking for, maybe they've "accepted" a 360, 308, 355, etc. and don't want to have multiples of the same car.
