Lime Rock Park Track Event! - Empire State Region Ferrari Club Saturday Aug 29. For those not interested in tracking their cars, a bunch of us are taking a scenic ride up to the park for the day to hang out and watch some great cars being tracked. We will most likely meet at the Americana in Manhasset, LI for a quick breakfast at around 6:30-7am then take a scenic ride up to the park. This is a closed FCA event so you will need a valid FCA membership card to get in. Put the date in your calendars. This will be fun. And bring along a folding chair!
Just an FYI, but the following satuday, is the vintage fall festival. We usually leave early in the morning to spend the day. One of the best weekends to see great cars and have an awesome time. If you are not tracking your car.
Bump. This Saturday 8/29. Meet at the rear of Americana Manhasset. Searingtown Rd entrance. Departing at 7am sharp for a scenic drive up to Lime Rock park. Bring a folding chair and your FCA membership card to gain entrance to the park.
We will be supporting 6 challenge cars for the ccr race...should be exciting! Sorry ive missed the sunday gatherings..racing has kept our weekends busy.
CCR races at 11am and 3pm on Sat 8/29. Here's the schedule Challenge Car Racing - 2015 Lime Rock Park
Its open to non-FCA members. There is a slightly higher registration fee to track your car. The year I went anyone could enter the track as a spectator after signing a release. If you want to drive I think you need a safety inspection performed by a dealer and an on site safety inspection plus of course an approved helmet (and nomex for anything over beginner).
You have to be an FCA member to just attend and spectate too? If I am do all the guests have to be too? Is it kind of like the awesome Ferrari Challenge in 2012 since it has the CCR races on Saturday. Are a lot people going up on Saturday? I'm thinking of going.
This is what someone told me. It's a closed FCA event. But if you come in a Ferrari and/or with FCA members, it shouldn't be a problem. This is my first time so I don't want to give you any wrong info. I guess you can call the park and see what they say. As of now we have about seven of us. I'm sure there will be others as some just will show up at 7:00am and join in. So just come with us!!
Andy I just emailed the president and the track event coordinator. I will find out. They are on the track already I'm sure so it might be a bit before they get back to me. I was told because it's a closed FCA event, only members will be allowed. Non-members had to pay a higher amount to track their cars but obviously will be allowed on the track with their approved application. I will find out about spectators but I think if you come with a Ferrari or members you will be allowed in. I will post as soon as I find out for sure.
Matt we are going tomorrow. It's a two day event but we are just going up for the day. Join us at 6:30-7am tomorrow for the ride up.
I emailed Lime Rock this morning: Today and tomorrow (Fri.8/28, Sat.8/29) is a Ferrari Club of America-Empire Region track event. Can a non-member, spectator attend after signing a release, as I have in the past? > Reply: Absolutely, come on out! > > Rick Roso > LRP
What route are you taking up there? The track is located in a difficult area to reach as no high ways go there. I live in Greenwich and Google Maps says it is like an hour and 40 minute ride there at best. I'm always a tad weary of driving the 430 that far as it has no spare (only a can of fix a flat) and a tow home could be costly and a hassle (AAA only tows the first 5 miles for free). If I go I may go in regular car. Not sure what to do.
Take your Fcar. We are coming from LI! Bring a tire plugger with you and an air pump. Here is a snapshot of the route.
As BLK said, all are welcome. The president of the ESR FCA just got back to me with this when I asked him about non-members attending: Yes. Not a problem. Everyone needs to sign the track and FCA waivers on entering. Should be a nice day for a drive!
Just saw this... I email Bob C about me coming up for the morning (I need to be back home by 4pm). I am interested in running my '15 Cali T w an instructor. Do you know if that is possible? Obviously if there is a fee , np. Matt, I am probably going up by myself if you want to ride a long... Al
