    Hi All,

Just purchased a new home in Morris County. In my previous home I had a beautiful epoxy floor done by a company called Kross coatings. Unfortunately it looks like they are either out of business or not doing garages anymore. I've called around to a few but it seems like I get people who are doing this as a hobby or don't seem all that interested.

I'm looking for a reputable company. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    -Ted

Are they the same as the Premier Garage franchise guys? If not, send me a link or info to them if you have.

    Thanks!

I'm done with epoxy applications on my garage floor. I have installed 24x24 porcelain tiles on the entire garage floor and that was it. Never looked back again. Non slippery, easy to clean and it will last forever.

Do it yourself...it is fun, easy and satisfying to get a great result. I have done it for my last 2 garages and it came out perfect for a fraction of the cost!

5 years ago, I would have done it myself. But a family, multiple properties, & businesses all demanding my attention make that impossible. I'm lucky if I get to drive one of my F cars once a month.

I'm not a fan of tile - porcelain or the plastic racedeck/similar. A friend had a tile garage years ago and the grout was all discolored after 2 years of regular NJ abuse. Maybe in other climates I'd consider it. On the latter, I dislike the feeling of walking on plastic.

On epoxy, I had great results and the garage stayed looking great after 10 years. Even when I sold the house, people consistently commented and how spotless the garage was.

I actually reached out to ArmorPoxy before reading the post here - they seem OK and reasonably priced. They won't touch it till spring though which I understand because of cold weather.

We will see, I'll keep everyone posted on the results so that this thread has some meaningful use to someone in the future.

My floor was too rough to put down epoxy/paint surface, so I went with Racedeck. I thought I would dislike walking on plastic, but actually it's actually turned out to be one of the things I like best about it because the plastic doesn't get cold in winter and its a more comfortable walking surface than cement/tile. If one tile gets damaged, you can swap it out for a couple of bucks in about 2 minutes time.

If I were to do it over again, I'd probably consider wood porcelain tile planks instead just because it looks so cool. I just put those in the basement and they are great, they do get cold however -- the floor is like an insatiable heat sink that immediately pulls all the heat out of your body if you stand on it barefoot.
