    I think Florida used to be cheaper but now an F40 would qualify for a MN Collector plate. About $100, one time.

    So, the Minnesota DMV lets you drive a car that "lives" in state with out-of-state plates (registration) on it for long term use ?

    That's a definite no-no in every other state in the US.

    They frown on it here too. Some folks seem to get away with it if they actually own property in another state and the car is only here "temporarily". I've seen a few high-end cars registered in Oregon or Montana that spend time here.
