I have finished the Delorean and I am now trying to sell it. Realistically I think it will be spring when people are interested buying again and I will get what I want for it.

In looking around I have found some great bargains on cool cars and I am considering picking one up for a winter project.

I don't imagine I am alone in this. What are do you guys have for winter projects?

I get bored and start shopping - I think I bought another boat yesterday. Not sure why I need three boats.

Allison is the ultimate 20 foot sport boat V-bottom. I've owned two - both XS2003 Grandsports. The SS2000 is a little bit lighter so of course it's quicker and faster if we talk equal HP.

I think the DeLorean makes a fine addition to your collection. Keep it!

I bought it as a project. it is a fun car to drive and people's reactions to it are great but I have many cars on my list and a new shop to buy so I have to sell it.

    This winter?

I want to replace a crank seal on the 1967 short wheel base Porsche
I want to replace the synchros in the gearbox of the 944 V8 hybrid
I want to dial-in the chassis (align & corner balance) the spec Miata
I want to swap out the engine in my dragcar Dodge with the new big inch stroker engine
I want to do a full major on the Stradale
I want to replace the front calipers on the hot rod 911 with rebuilt aluminum S units
I want to freshen up the 930 engine bay

    I better get to work.

I now have the 914 home and have a new first experience. When the clutch gets pushed in the engine revs straight to red line. Standing over the engine I can see the throttle is opening as the clutch is pressed. I believe the pedal assembly needs adjustment and the clutch controls are snagging the throttle controls. I am also convinced the ignition timing is well advanced but that is easy to verify.

I bought a mint Allison SS 2000 Excel yesterday. Not a car, but I would say it's the "Ferrari" of the water in terms of a 20 footer.

More digging on the 914 and I have decided to rebuild the engine. I found a burned exhaust valve. After putting the bore scope in to look at the bores I see no reason in rebuilding the heads and leaving the rest alone. I am adding 96 mm bored and need my heads machined. Anyone know of a machine shop with VW type 4 experience?

    Shot down the bore

Thanks! Hope you've been well, Bill. Can't wait for spring, this winter has been very mild but I'm still/already tired of it.

I'm attempting again this winter to get my 383 done and in the T/A.

Although yesterday we picked up 2 of the 3 new X30 TAG kart race engines and those kart builds begin real soon.

Where ever you have good ice. I've raced on Winnebago a bunch, along with Geneva, Kegonsa, Mendota, Monona, Green Lake and Green Bay since 1999.

With 383 I am assuming LT based not LS. Am I correct?
