Karl, would you mind sharing some photos and what you have done to your X5 to make it into such a beast? Did you hit that on the James Island Connector?

I'm impressed that the shot is in focus and not fuzzy. Must be a cool, calm, collected driver; I'm not sure a passenger (hanging on for dear life?) would have a steady hand at that speed.

    Haha. On but not engaged.
I'd like to do an official run with video and all. Need to check into airports with long enough runways that would be willing to be part of it.

Is the X5 stable at that speed? I can't imagine the aerodynamics were planned for that kind of speed?

Very few cars are stable at that speed. Definitely wouldn't want a crosswind. All I can say, laws of physics prohibit what this thing is capable of.

Karl- Mountain Air in the NC mountains let the FCA run some impromptu drag races there a coupla years ago. It's the highest airport east of the Mississippi, so you'd have to adjust your fuel-air mixture for altitude. Oh, and the drop-off at the end of the rather short runway... is a long way down. :)
