Here was my progression: '87 328 GTS (White / Black) -> '83 512 BBi (Red-Black / Beige) -> '07 612 HGTS F1 (Grigio Silverstone / Cuoio) 328 was blast to drive; but, only for a couple of hours before I'd had enough. Boxers are all grey market and interesting; but not terribly exciting. 612 is the best bargain right now, which reminds me of Boxer prcing in the late 90s. Back then, nobody wanted a Boxer - today, a very different story. 612 has similar production numbers and is much better in every way. Good luck.
Ultimately, I think a 430 or 599 will be the Queen of my garage. 430 over 599 b/c you can have the Gate. Right now, I need to finish my masters, get the job of my dreams, buy a car that will get me through the important stuff - like buying a home, getting hitched and paying off my rental property. Want to be debt free by age 40. If the 456 covers that need and helps me with my goal. So be it. I've learned I probably won't have anything 'Forever', so enjoy the journey and ride.. Unfortunately, I do not believe there were many gated versions of the F430, as was the case with the 360. You'll probably have to pay a lot more for those with the manual gate.
They're out there & you're right. Looking forward to the adventure down the road. A gated 430 will run a premium about the same as a 599 and for a little bit more money; you get a lot more for your money.
The 599 was actually offered with a manual, but they're most likely much harder to find than a manual F430. This guy found a manual 599, if you need proof of it's existence, but I doubt there were more than a handful produced so equipped. If you're willing to drive, you should be able to find a gated F430 fairly easily though! I've seen one here in NC with a manual so they are out there, you just have to luck up and find one

The time has come again for another CandC Wilmington, the meet was mildly strong last month due to rain. However so long as it stays away there's been talks of over 300 cars. Hope to see some out there!
Wilmington C&C 's are usually very large. I'm going to Uharrie this weekend so I'll have to miss this one. Weather looks great. Enjoy!
