Triangle Italians 7th Annual Toy Drive, Post-Poned - December 13th!

I'll be out of town, but wish you luck with this event.

Thanks to Howard and Kate who gave me a truck load of toys for the children. Hope to see a big turnout next Saturday.

 

It will be a beautiful day. See everyone tomorrow. Plenty of safe parking at the meeting and drop off points.

 

Just to clarify. Is the Hurricane chapter of the PCA also invited to the toy drive on Dec. 13th?

 

Dear Zuccmeister. Greg Owen is the real force behind this event so maybe he will weigh in, but I think the answer to PCA participation is : YOU BET!. We are grateful for your participation and the kids will thank you.

 

And i didnt see this until now....

No way I can make it as i am committed for tomorrow....

I hate the chance to see all of that and to meet everyone. I committed to a benefit cruise down here so I will be out doing some positive here locally.

BTW, I will be up in Raleigh Tuesday and Wednesday performing at the Meymandi Auditorium. Not sure if I am spending the night or driving back here but if anyone is around let me know...

At this point I am pretty sure I will drive up and spend the night. I havent decided where to stay yet but I havent looked to see where the Maymandi is either. I am debating driving the Ferrari or my truck. Truck would be more practical, but thr the Ferrari would be a lot more fun obviously.

I should start another thread on this rather than hijacking this one..

Thanks Patrick. Unfortunately, I already have a commitment for Wednesday evening I cannot break.

Meymandi is on the south end of Fayetteville Street Mall though I don't think that term may be used anymore since they opened the street to vehicular traffic a few years ago. The most swank hotel within walking distance of Meymandi is the Marriott. Next down the list is the Sheraton, also within walking distance. About 2 to 3 miles away there is a relatively new Hampton Inn located in the area known as Glenwood South, where the rates are good but a longer distance.

The circular Holiday Inn downtown is somewhat iconic and granted has some of the best views from the bar/restaurant at the top but last time I stayed there it was rather shabby.

If you do decide to come up Tuesday evening send me a PM or post here. It would be great to meet you. If it's possible maybe we could have a drink downtown Tuesday.

 

I was in the apex of the turn as we lined up for the Lumley light. I think there we had about 100 participants.
