Some interesting news in regards to emissions inspections in NC starting April 1st. According to the DMV website cars newer than 3 years old and less then 70,000 miles no longer require an emissions test. They only need to get a safety inspection. I also noticed that cars that exceed 35 years old are also exempt from emission testing. Here is the proof from the website: NCDOT: Vehicle Emissions & Safety Inspection Deiger
My Pinzgauer is exempt from emissions testing. Kind of amazing really, because the thing is basically like a rolling Duke Energy coal ash demonstration.
Since the advent of OBD2 some 20 years ago emisisons testing is nothing more than an unnescessary money grab and hassle.
Pulled out the Pinz today. I'm with you on that Daniel. But then again, none of my cars require emission testing in NC
