August 21st Gathering

So I have been a little remiss in keeping this thread updated. The past 2 months have been pretty busy for me as I continue to work on my lightweight Porsche 911 RSR/ST tribute project. Anyhow, here are few pics fro last month. Really nice turn out, with some really cool variety.

We had 2 Nobles, a flock of Louses, plenty of Porsche's, vintage BMW's, modern Audi's and a Miura, Countach and a few Ferrari's all making out. The best might of have been the 4500 original mile flying mirror TR. Really, really nice to see it on the road.

SO August is at the usual spot on Sunday August 21st @ 9:00 AM. Hope to see some of you there.

November 20th @ 9:00 AM

Hi all,

The recent passing of my father has kept me away from updating this thread the last couple months, but the event has been occurring regularly. Hope to see some Maranello beauties on 11/20.

Sorry about your loss - condolences to you & your family.

This is a fantastic event for those mainly interested in the European Only cars, with a great location and much more manageable venue.

I have been out of the scene for the last year but hope to bring the Lambo out next year again.

Hey..Russell. Good to see your post. I had figured you had set up shop in the South of Spain by now. ; )

On a related and sad note I feel compelled to mention that there is unfortunately, another passing in our community. Rene Eric Vonwiller passed away this month too. Eric was 59 and a super upbeat guy. Despite his ultimately futile batter with cancer, he was indulging in his passion for European sports cars right up to the end. He had acquired a Lotus Europa about a month prior to his passing and brought it out to his last C&C event. Here is a pic of him with his Noble and he is also in a picture this thread seated behind the same car. He will be missed as will my father.

Was that the Noble with the '55' sticker on the driver's side?

I believe so. I just knew the car as "the blue Noble". But I think I see the top of a decal on the door of the picture posted in this thread.

Dang, sorry to hear that as well. He seemed to attend a lot of the Charlotte-area car shows, and apparently wasn't afraid to drive his cars (I overheard him say that he had put 4,000 miles on his Noble within the first six months of ownership). Condolences to his family as well.

Just bumping this up. Come on out tomorrow morning, but bundle up. Start temps in the mid-30's; a bit chilly, but perfect weather for creating HP. ; ) I know there will be at least one yellow, gated 360 Modena in attendance.

Dang, I might have been able to make it if this was next weekend. Oh well. Is this always at Caribou Coffee in Southpark unless otherwise noted?

Not sure whether I will drive the Modena or something else. I brought the Modena last month.

Yes, Caribou unless noted. FYI, it is usually in the winter months we find our way to warmer indoor friendly confines. Watch the website for updates.
