It was a perfect day for a car show, it was held at 4,118 Ft in Highlands NC. All the cars were excellent examples of each model. I was amazed at the quality. A nice Gullwing was there, Porsche RS and RSR's, Alfa, Rolls, Ford, and 2 cars by Ferrari. Wish our Georgia and Carolina people would have come out. Plan on showing up next for a fun day that is cool and refreshing. Next year will be the 10th year. Also Italian car day will be held over at Chateau Elan instead of Norcorss. This will be in Oct So keep your eyes open for this event. Thanks for the pics, John. I'm certain it was a lot cooler up there than around here. That gullwing appears to be the same one that was at Caffeine & Octane last month. I actually attended a car show today, sort of. I drove to Warner Robins (in the Honda) for a plastic model show at the Museum of Aviation, and it turns out they were hosting a car show as well to raise money for certain veterans' organizations. In spite of the heat, the organizer told me that they raised $8,000!
Very cool, we debated going up today, but hung around the pool instead. i think the Zagato is a fiberglass replica right? Last real one to sell I think was around 12mm? That said I have a video taken from the dash of the yellow oven as I followed this real one owned by Cal Turner of Nashville over the mountain. I think this was around 2006 or so. Glad to see you still have the GT! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Speaking of Zagatos.... in photo # 7, is that an Alfa Zagato? There was one here - a 1600- Saturday at the Winston-Salem Cars and Coffee. Owner says maybe two dozen made it stateside. We also had six Ferraris at the Winston C&C.
The blue Alfa is a Junior Zagato. There's probably several dozen in the States now; nothing stopping more from coming over as they're easy to find in Europe.
The alfa was a special order, different from the others. Can't remember all the owner said. but he head up the alfa club I think, he is always handing out trophies at Italian Car day in Norcross. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
David you are correct on the replica. It was built to the specifications of the old Jim Clark car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
