Two of us came up from the Hilton Head area. 360 Spider and a Modena. We didn't meet any F-Chatters except "Patek" whom we knew from Julie I's event. Would have been nice to connect with other F-Chatters. Guess we were not in sync sitting in our chairs off and on.
Dave, we spoke yesterday about Hilton Head restaurants, so you & Bruce met one other F-Chatter! John with the red 430.
it was great to see everyone, met some really super people as usual. Hate it is over. I was just getting use to getting up................., not really........ at all...... John

It felt good to be at a nice car show. Last weekend I did a local show, and it was all American muscle, and rods. I didn't know much about their Super Bee's and they certainly did not know anything about my car. Odd world that was. So this was a breath of Fresh air to talk old Alfa, abarth, Quattro, some people even knew the old UOP Can-Am cars, so it is a show not to miss. I did like seeing the Jags, these brought back memories of my childhood ,and man they still look great. My father had 14 XKE's from 1964-1973, and those switches on the dash are amazing to look at. In 1957 he was racing on the Beach of Daytona with Bill France in a 1956 Jag Convertible. So the Jags are always with me. The cars were great to see. The M1 is always great to see.Had a friend in Californa that put 200,000 miles on his BMW M1 that is off the chart. The Dino was the first ferrari we ever bought in 1974, paid $19,000 for it. Huge Money. Glad to see the Audi Quattro, I drove the wheels of the one we had back in 1983. Is was faster around Road Atlanta than the 308 GTB. It was so silky smooth, but out of all the cars we owned, Porsche, Ferrari, Jag etc, the Quattro was the only car that ever left us stranded. It stayed in the shop all the time, melted fuse box. But it was sweet to take over the mountains. The new GT 4 is a great looking car, great to see the old Mercedes 500 E , that had the engine built by Porsche. Nice fender flares. And Beautiful Weather up and back. I know I had more dust on my car than anyone thought possible. I got in line at 6:50am , wanted to get all the wind and dust I could. All the Ferraris looked great. It was like a dream looking into the parking lot. All the Decades represented. The all of a sudden we all leave and go our own ways. It ends quickly. I was right behind you at 7:00 am so I'm sure I had as much wind and dust as you. Thanks for the photo of my 430 since I didn't bring my camera.............
Yes I remember, I think you and I had most of the dirt and wind early on. Kept it clean for all the other 350 cars.
I was fortunate enough to be parked next to a rare & beautiful MT F430. As usual, I was the only 612 anywhere near the area. Perhaps someday I will actually see another 612, other than the ones I test drove and the one I eventually purchased. Regardless, was very appreciative of winning my class division. I guess the other Ferrari owners felt bad for me.
I had a great time in my Silver/Black 308 QV- and won the "Vintage Driver Award" from Coker Tire for my road trip-ness, as I drive down and back from MD. The way down on Thursday was unmercifully hot, the way back on Sunday was pure fall driving bliss. Great time!
Love the Audi Quattro too. Thanks for posting the pictures since I couldnt make it this year.. I never see these around any more, and the only ones for sale are usually RHD, UR Quattro versions. Whats the sign in the window of the black one? Curious if it was for sale and if so, price? What a great dream garage to have a Quattro, E30 M3, and a Renault R5 Turbo II. All boxed flare rallye cars from the same era.
