Winemakers Dinner & Drive Event. Began in West Salem with a GREAT 60 mile drive to the summit of Marys Peak, then back to Salem for a stunning 6 course winemakers dinner in a Ferrari memorabilia adorned venue. 18 prizes given away thanks to RTGT and the NWRFCA. An incredible day! Video required multiple drones, a car mounted GoPro, a glide camera and a ground boom. Excellent editing work! A very memorable event...18 Ferrari's, 2 Maserati's, a Bentley and a Porsche (his Ferrari is being restored). Dinner menu was extraordinary. Just returned from the incredibly well organized Coeur d'Alene event last weekend (THANK YOU TOM!) and had a very good dinner at the Coeur d'Alene resort for the Friday night banquet, but it was not quite as good as the Winemakers Dinner Event, and it did not include 6 glasses of different wines!! This event proved so popular last year, that we have been asked to host again! An upgraded gathering spot at a local winery and the same challenging & memorable drive to Marys Peak and back. At 4,098, Marys Peak is the highest peak in the Oregon Coast Range. On a clear day, from the top of the peak, you can see both the Pacific Ocean to the west and many of the Cascade Mountains to the east across the Willamette Valley. The drive is followed by an incredible six course Winemakers Dinner provided by Loustic Catering and Bethel Heights Vineyard in a Ferrari memorabilia adorned dining venue with lots of prizes for those in attendance. This is a NW Region Ferrari Club of America event, and is currently taking limited-attendance registrations. See the April newsletter for all the details. If you are not currently a member, I would encourage you to consider joining. The regional events we have attended in the past few years have all been exceptionally organized, and very fun. Discounted lodging and reserved parking has been arranged for club members who wish to stay the night in Salem. Be sure to check out the video and photo's from last year posted earlier in this thread!
Event Update: Right now, we are working on prize acquisition and updating the map booklet. Last year, I used my private stash of Ferrari-themed gift bags to give away 18 gifts at the dinner venue. Thanks to Ferrari of Seattle (you are the best Tom!) we have new Ferrari themed gift bags for this year. Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo has generously offered to provide additional gifts. Our map booklet includes all of the route details of our scenic pleasure drive to Marys Peak and back, and includes some history of the area and photo's of the the landmarks along the way. Modifications to the Map Booklet are necessary because of the new gathering location at a wonderful local winery that will offer the participants a covered outdoor gathering area, and options for lunch and/or winery tours and tastings. Next, we will be working on preparing Ferrari memorabilia to be displayed at the dining venue. My next update will include the incredible Winemakers Dinner menu as provided by Loustic Catering and Bethel Heights Vineyard. Registration is now open for all Ferrari Club of America members that wish to attend! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Update: Map Booklet for the epic drive is now complete. Ferrari memorabilia to adorn the dining venue is being prepped. Prize acquisition is continuing. Expecting to have about 15 prizes for participants to win. Two flagpoles (using flags we won as prizes at previous NWRFCA events) have been constructed to use as markers for the entrance to our gathering spot and the reserved parking area. More surprises in the works! Here is the fantastic menu for "Winemakers Dinner & Drive II".
