Still no snow to be seen this far north. Looks like it's about as far north as Tacoma. We'll see what happens tonight. If you believe the newscasts up here we will all be buried in the stuff by morning.
Drove to New Seasons Market this morning just before the snow started to get a case of Bourgogne Blanc, some charcuterie and some bread just to be on the safe side.
I think right now is about the worst of it, at least in my neighborhood (west side) with the freezing rain. Should be okay by tomorrow morning, though.
I'm at about 500' and our private drive was pretty slippery this morning around 7:15, but I assume it's improved a lot in the past four hours..
some pics from Canada, and, it's not always cold here,, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm also at 500', and while it's getting better (my street isn't plowed), it's still covered in slush and ice.
Well it finally made it up here to my area late last night. Ended up with a couple inches or so and it's still hanging around so far.
Well, after a forecast of "snowmageddon" for our Pacific South West (your immediate northern neighbor), the cold front blew in from Washington today and is leaving us with snow right down to sea level. Funny how Canada always gets blamed for sending those cold fronts. Oh well, skiing is going to be good. Jon
My younger daughter is a snowboarding instructor at Timberline when she's on semester break. Took the SUV up there yesterday no problem
I had the Tesla at Mt. Hood Meadows yesterday. Snow was great, weather was pretty good (beautiful in the morning), lift lines and traffic there and back, not so much.
I took this picture as a joke but after I shot this the car was stuck there. I would not advise trying to drive in the snow with Pilot Super Sports! Had to lay down towels and have Carolyn drive and I pushed to get it back in the garage. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow--this afternoon is bad. Took me 45 minutes to make the normal 10 minute drive from office to home using back roads. Most of that was traffic and driving around spun out or otherwise stuck cars. I watched a ODOT/PDOT de-icing truck slide sideways on my way home. I did okay, but Jeep Wrangler, 4WD, snow tires (and chains if needed). Back by C4S out of the garage to warm it up, to heat my garage because I need to to some woodworking glue-ups tonight. Wheels (summer tires) spun some pulling back in.
2" inches of snow and a total shutdown of Hwy 26 heading west out of town. They even got a shot of the panicked mom with 4 small kids in the car. Funny/stupid part is the HUGE ODOT sand/gravel yard at the top of the hill. Can't use any salt, just leave them all stuck for hours and hours on end
