Beautiful car. Have they all skyrocketed in value or is it something about this car in particular? That is 190SL money!

Actually; a guy could probably take either of those cars and make a solid $50k at RM next Jan.

    I also like the 1970's 600 SWB.

In Hi School (early 1980's), a decent 300SL Roadster could be found for the bottom 20's and the Gullwing for the hi 30's. Dad purchased a new 300D and obtained a complementary subscription for the Star Magazine. In the back of the magazine was a classified section. Honestly, at the time, I pounded him over and over to buy an old Gullwing.

    Beautiful Car.

Yours is probably a show quality one. I was looking to pick up a "driver" one that might not be as perfect as yours, and have seen them in the 40-50's.

Out of curiosity -- what does it cost to do a full restoration to a "driver" type of 280 sl ?

They didn't do a ZF in 1971 due to adapting the coast down solenoid (emissions equipment) to a ZF tranny.

With all new rubber and springs the car is now as it was in 1970.. People are used to seeing worn out cars...
