    $19,250.00

    93,282 miles

    Automatic

Grand Prix White with Navy leather interior

    VIN - WP0JB2926LS860251

She runs awesome and no mechanical problems other than a battery that likes to drain if you let her sit for a week without starting. So I just start her or use a trickle charger.

Body is great. Interior is very good. Only imperfections on the interior are a slight warping on one of the plastic pieces on the dash and some cracks in the plastic on the top of the instrument binnacle.

She had a thorough going over at Western Motors in October 2011 that found no major issues, but included:

    Converter Bearing
    Timing Belt Adjust
    Tensioner Boot and Gasket
    Wheel Bearing
    Window Regulator

    I have the receipt.

    Jerry,

I parked cars at the same country club in which I was a caddy, it was usually for a dinner service or special event. The first car I drove was a 928 S4 owned by a guy (David Hume) that owns The Pine Club steakhouse in Dayton, Ohio. His license plate said STEAK. What a wonderful memory that was, car looked like a spaceship and still does. I'll never forget the evening he handed me the keys, warm summer night, just before dusk, with the parking lights on and the rumbling V8 just waiting on me. Man. Beautiful Porsche, Jerry, good luck with the sale.

I should browse the forums more often. I just bought an 89 928S4, within the last two weeks. Its one of my favorite cars. Mine is silver on dark blue. In the 90's, I had an 88 in white with navy interior. Its a good color combo, yours looks nice. Should sell fast, most of the 928's for sale here, well they all sold quickly.

The only reason I like the manual, its rarity and carries a premium. But for actual driving, this is one car that performs better in automatic. Hence why everyone bought the auto's when new. The manuals actually sat on the showroom floor, nobody wanted them back in the day. Having had both, much better as an auto car.

I disagree. I've had one or two 928s in my garage for the past 33 years, and in my opinion for you to say that the automatic "performs better" than a manual is ludicrous, as is your statement that nobody wanted manuals back in the day. Our family dealership did a substantial Porsche tourist delivery business during the 928 production years, and I don't think a single customer ordered an automatic. But then again, we catered to enthusiasts.

I never owned a white 928, but it's on my list. But it has to be a manual. To the OP, it's a very good looking 928. GLWS.

The auto is a little slower 0to60 and that's about it performance wise. Maybe in the ordered from and took delivery at the factory cars, the manual was preferred. But at the dealers most choose the automatic over the 5spd. Hence why the majority of 928's you see for sale are the automatics. The 5spd is considered rare and even carries a premium these days.

Its not a very good 5spd. Its sluggish. Reminds me of my Mercedes 190E. Its something luxury sedan makers put in their cars, its not a sports cars gearbox. Light clutch and no feel the gears, almost sloppy. The automatic is better for its purpose a grand tourer, that can be driven like a sports car. You can drive the auto like a manual, it smoothly gears down and up shifts. Overall its a better transmission. Its not like the typical automatics in "sports" cars of the day. If it was an 70's,80's,, or even 90's 911 Id say run from the automatic and get the manual. But on the 928, its a better car with the automatic.

Not sure that this is the place to seek an objective answer, but here goes.

I have always had a soft spot for a 928 and have been recently considering a '90 928GT manual. We have a '96 456GTA in the garage as well as a 365 Boxer.

How do you folk that have driven them, compare the 928 and the 456GTA (perhaps consider auto v auto & manual v manual).

    Cheers
