I'm looking for a '61 or '62 Corvette with a black exterior and red interior. If a '61, I would love silver coves.

    MUST HAVE:
    All instruments in working order
    Excellent chrome and other cosmetics
    Manual transmission
    Working radio
    Original wheels & other equipment

    SHOULD HAVE:
    Hardtop
    4-speed
    Fuel Injection

NOTE: I do not mind a NOM (non-original motor), or non-matching numbers, but expect the price to be corresspondingly lower

PM me through FerrariChat or email [email protected].

A finder's fee for a quick sale is available.

    Thanks!

    Matt

Good luck! My father had a '61 triple black with 2x4bbl 283 motor. My brother has the car now, but I don't think he's looking to sell it. Fun car, I loved driving it when I was a kid!

    Thank you.

They are pretty old fashioned to drive, especially compared with later Sting Rays, especially when the later cars got disc brakes.

    But they look so good!

I'll settle for a NOM car. Not necessarily a fuelie.

    That's not a unicorn car.

EDIT: Over 1300 1961s were in black. The majority of which had a red interior. The silver cove was something like a $70 option.

There are five in that color combo in Hemmings, although either resto-mods, over-restored, asking too much, or in need of too much work.

I want a driver in that color combination. Perhaps that IS a unicorn car!

    :)

Hemmings usually has quite a few vintage Vettes. I'd check there as well.

Never understood why serious buyers (of anything) feel discouraged by "asking" prices.
I've made many, but always polite and well reasoned, below 50% offers on (vintage) cars.
Some have been accepted, some even at below 75% and after initial "Are you crazy or something !?!" or "Get the f... out !!!"

P.S. If above comment is considered off topic or non-productive, mods are welcome to delete it. ;-)

Im both a mod and the original poster. And I agree completely.

I should be offering what I would pay for any given car.

My hang up is that the ProTeam guys in Ohio (and their copy cats) are asking retail-plus-plus pricing for their cars.

Don't get hung up on irrelevant, inspect the car and if what you like, make a (realistic) offer you wish to pay.
World is full old/used/vintage cars with millions of them "for sale" at any given moment and apparently plenty of '61/'62 Vettes available.
Just because someone is asking doesn't mean they're getting, but at times there are also buyers with completely unrealistic expectations...
Good hunting (as I don't subscribe to "luck" ;-)

    Hi 'Smiles'-

I sold one in this color combo to a client here in SD about 2 years ago because his wife said she'd like it. Saw him last week and we were laughing because his wife has ridden once in it in the 2 years. He may be interested in selling it. I'll keep you posted when i hear back from him.

    Please do, Brent.

That's the kind of connection I'm looking for.

    I think I've found one.

Similar to the one above, but in many ways better. Or at least more modern.

I'll post a new thread when and if I get it.
