First shown at the 1963 Geneva motor show the ATS is considered the first mid engined exotic. The Miura P400 debuted in 1966. Chassis 2006 does anyone know where the other 7 are? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know one is up in Minnesota, USA. Here are very old pictures of the second prototype by Ed Niles when he owned it and photos at the factory after they shut down all around 1966. The race shot is of a rare Corsa model at the Targa Florio. I was curious of the cars next to the ATS, googled and found this page that i wanted to share, interesting. http://www.bizzarrinispyder.com/index.html
Just the opposite. The Mangusta was the "wannabe" as it postdates the ATS by several years. Too bad the Mangusta, which isn't bad looking, had such bad engineering in every other way- I tried one and thought the car was almost undrivable- very crude and underdeveloped. The ATS on the other hand, is a spectacular car- there was one here in Denver for years, not sure where it is now.
Still there I believe, Joe Sackey posted a picture of it while discussing Miura's a few months back, it was red. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138239351&postcount=5425 I spoke to a number of people that have driven ATS's and unlike many other early mid engine exotics they say the experience is fantastic. The car handles well and is very comfortable.
Mark Sassak's Bizzarrini Stile Italia Spider. Great car! There was only one built in this configuration.
alright you exotic car 'know it alls' 'joke' thanks for correcting me - AGAIN...I think the "Mangusta, which isn't bad looking" is more like "one of the most beautiful car designs ever"...all you guys know so much, but your eye for AUTOMOTIVE ART is sorely lacking! lol I acknowledge that the ATS is a screaming cool ride anyway, bud don't go dissing on 'goose's', some of us don't drive our garage queen's, so the engineering, which is kind of a disaster , does not apply, but Mangusta's LOOKS are TOP NOTCH! now back to the ATS.....
Saw this one at Pebble '09. You could check the program book to find more details I suppose. http://xy5ejq.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pLOpypH-t6pXP5Q-E6pnECogY1wswivu8Vb8PWIzKDH7nrb0x6Nryd3mTmIcrWENco8dL4Bg7icdMbHpKN5gY88sETXGyUgJK/ats1sm.jpg?psid=1 http://xy5ejq.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pFhax5dQ5jXu3hmMpnUVrrgVNk2a13T22g-9fjfVxSD39uk1k6BcVNHdCRl1s_wXCs5GGo98j0-bz2PIvBW3R9bFeBdOVpB6R/ats2sm.jpg?psid=1
There was a second car at the Targa-Florio 1964. What happened to them? Image Unavailable, Please Login
