Any opinions? I think it would be a perfect marriage. Classic lines etc.

I think it would look off, I have seen wires on a dino race car.

Photoshop it , post it and lets see what everyone thinks.

I don't have photo-shop. I'm just basing it on the 330, 275 365GTB4 etc. All of the chrome trim + the classic body lines. I would not suggest a race stance with a very wide wheel, but perhaps a 15x 6 or 6 1/2. I think 14" wheels don't show off the spokes.

If you post a photo of the car you have in mind, someone will probably photoshop it for you. They do make Borrani's for the Fiat Dino apparently (Müncher Oldtimer Reifen - MOR - Reifen für Ihren Oldtimer | 6.5X14 RW-4148/C5 Borrani RC-42/72 Fiat Dino 2400 Umrüstsatz 5 | Müncher Oldtimer Reifen - MOR - Reifen für Ihren Oldtimer).

Whether it will look good or not is personal taste. For me, the very early vintage cars look great with Borrani's, but the later cars with more modern designs look better with alloys. When I was first looking for a 330, I wanted Borrani's, but the more I looked at cars the more I found I preferred the alloys on the 330's. One salesperson made the point that wire wheels are a distraction on the newer body styles. Either he's right or he's a really good at sales (because I bought his argument and the car). My personal opinion is that alloys look better on the Fiat dino, but I like Borrani's on the 250 and earlier Ferraris.

That looks very nice! Thanks. I'm trying to figure out if those (to scale) are 14" or 15". Either way, very cool! I think it resembles a 330gts and just screams classic----IMHO of course.

Mmmmm, I don't agree...but perhaps biased by the other non original Ferrari parts on a Fiat.

    Ciao

It looks much better than I expected with Borrani's, but I still feel that wire wheels create a bit of a distraction from the beautiful lines of the car. The stock alloys seem like a better balanced match. Either way I love those Fiat Dino's.

Personally, I think the Turrino wheels above look just a bit too fussy, but only because the lip is a little more complicated than the cleaner Borrani rim. That said, wheel offset is really, really important!

IMHO, the best looking upgrade on a Dino (and I'm obviously not an originality purist) is the early five-point 308 wheels. The asthetic rationale: On a classic, it's best to modify "forward." That is to say, modify with equipment that post-dates rather than precedes the platform by a few years. It's what drivers did in-period so it looks a bit more "right", if not correct. :)

Actually the Turrino lip profile on these wheels is the same as the Borrani.

Must be the light. It looks a little awkward.

Okay, I've left this thread alone to allow it as much "Vintage" exposure as possible. Time now to move it to where it really belongs. One-week redirect left in Vintage.

I like the original mags better, but the rims on the silver Dino look nice, much better than I thought.

This is what I thought of when you brought it up

I adore the Turinos / Borranis on the Dino Spider. They really transform the car.
Do these wheels bolt straight on or are hub modifications required?
    Thanks,

Personally I think the best wheels on the Dino are the knock offs from the 2.0-I'm thinking of putting them on my 2.4...

With you Phil...feel the same with ALL Dino's...early 206GT knockoffs for example on the 'other' Dino :)

I like the look of the wire wheels. The maintenance on these wire wheels are time entirely different.
I am putting on my 2.4 Spider a complete set of Campagnolo slightly more period correct.
