Lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats! Seems like you found one with the big ass rear wing. Rear visibility is not so good I hear, but I bet you'll manage.
Congrats Phil!!!! What is the story on the rear wing......were they optional on a Stradale or were they added by owners to further look like a Group B car?????
Thanks everyone! It's so exciting! Fred-rear wing was a factory option-what's cool about this car is that it has original group b Kevlar front and rear clips, as well as a group b exhaust-plus all the original body panels/exhaust that came with the car, and a whole bunch of spare bits and pieces... It's going to Turin to get a full going over by the abarth mechanics who worked on the cars originally, and then to me, finally!
I thought about it for quite a bit, and in the end, as much as I like how the 220 looks, I just like small cars, and apparently the 220 isn't such a great driver either! (Plus I'm kind of obsessed worth rally cars!)
Great to hear, I prefer compact cars as well. But IIRC you have an M1? That's a big car (relatively). Would loved to hear what else you also got, I love these threads of yours!
True, m1 is bigger, but the chassis and handling is AMAZING! It makes a crappy driver like me feel totally competent plus, it sounds like the balls (whatever they sound like) I also have a Stratos, which does the opposite-driving that is a trouser-changing experience every time...
Sweet, sweet.. Wish you a continues happy motoring, hope you are grinning as much as I think you are Looking forward to more info and more pictures.
Volta prepared a lot of 037's. I've been to his shop and met him but I think he was forced to leave the country! Lot of 037 tubs and parts at his shop. Way to go Phil. You're living my dream.
wow! i had no idea...i'm obviously MORE clueless than i previously thought.. thanks man...well, if you're ever in NY, you can come and touch the dream (i mean the cars, not me...)
Phil, Here is a little bit about Volta and a YouTube clip of him driving a comp 037. Voltaracing - Lancia Rally 037 4wd-h
Looks like typical driving in Jersey City ... should fit right in! Hey congrats Phil. I'm looking forward to seeing it at a Cars & Croissants one day? But bringing it to the Le Belle Machinne event in late June would be even better. The Pocono track is newly surface and the infield portion has been rebuilt.
You could display a nice group of Lancias there. Maybe Joe could get some other unique Lancias there for an even bigger display. Talk with Italiancars on here. It's his show. Le Belle Macchine d'Italia It's actual called "Le Belle Macchine d'Europa" since it's been opened up to more marques of cars but I just use the front part of the name which is enough for people to realize it's an Italian car event with other marques as well. I've been going since the mid 1990s. Last year was the first year I missed. See you at Cars & Croissants when the weather is a bit better. Bob S.
