Check that one out. I heard that car used to belong to some noble Belgian gentleman. Bizzarrini 0314 BTW, whoever took those pictures is very talented!
Perhaps the photographer has talent. Whoever did the restoration took just a teeny bit of artistic license...
This is what a Bizzarrini GT 5300 Strada interior and rear end should look like. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That interior is like a completely different version. Looks like the AC/ventilation might be a whole lot better. Very, very different.
I think Diamante restored the green car. Diamante worked for Bizzarrini and even built the AMX prototypes, so he knows his way around these cars, however he takes design liberties not always sticking with what was stock, This is evident in Grifo 413/223 that just sold at Amelia Island for a record price.
It depends on what you mean by "a whole lot better". There is very little in the interior of the green car that is authentic, including the air vents in the center dash. The Bizzarrini GT 5300 did not have AC.
In terms of functionality. So maybe AC was added or at least the ventilation was improved? Or it's all just decorative clap trap?
I don't know if Salvatore Diomante was artistic or not , but what is sure is that all the Bizzarrini specialists say he is the best and the only one able to restore a Bizzarrini the right way. During the last 50 years, Bizzarrini was not the one who was working on the cars.. it was Diomante! Therefore whatever changes were made, it was made by the one who was making the cars back in the time.
That may be true but it doesn't change the fact when one looks at this car there are multiple red flags raised. Not that it will have an impact on the value of the car, as the Grifo at Amelia Island proved, but the purists won't touch it with a 10 foot pole...
Who are "all the Bizzarrini specialists" that you speak of? Please name at least one. You say "During the last 50 years, Bizzarrini was not the one who was working on the cars" - who told you this fantasy? Giotto Bizzarrini has made many cars in the last 50 years. Giotto Bizzarrini made this beauty (my 1966 Bizzarrini GT 5300 Strada) 48 years ago and many since. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mike, on your site, you are promoting an ISO replica built by Negri (who is your friend I guess?). It clearly means that you're not totally neutral. When judges in Pebble Beach congratulate a car, their opinions are based on facts (nothing to do with friendship or at least, we do hope so) Well, that's easy. I'll just say Philippe Olczyk. I have read most of his books and I can tell he is the best. Of course, you can badmouth him.. but everybody here knows why. Just read all his posts here on Ferrarichat. He just denounced how your friend shamefully imported fake P538. In the meantime, he is the only one who can tell the difference between an chassis made by Iso and one made by SubAlpina. And if you also can, please, explain it to us, here and now! And I have read an article writen by Philippe Olczyk. Himself does think that Diomante is surely the best. How many Pebble Beach awards did he get already! Not everyone knows but if Bizzarrini was the boss and the money manager, the one who was fixing the problems, was Diomante. He is the one who looked for new chassis builder when Iso stopped delivering the chassis to Bizzarrini. He is the one who built the AMX. It is in his shop in Torino that the cars were made. The reality is not what people can think or read. All the real experts know that Bizzarrini (technical consultant) was a trouble maker, always fighting with everybody and he was very lucky that Diomante wanted to stay in the shadow. The cars have his name but were built by Diomante. In 2000, Bizzarrini built some chassis and bodies for P538. You should see the result and the quality, it was the worst ever seen, sold for 20,000EUR. Want to see Bizzarrini quality of work ? Bizzarrini Prototipo Grifo | Mecanic Imports (the car was not like this when arrived in Belgium, the car was completely rebuilt by a shop but still, it remains a joke if you compare to the high class restoration work of Diomante) So, it's totally fine to prefer Negri's work. All I know is that, when he was still selling pieces of furniture, Diomante was already working on the Iso A3C. He is 75 and has never stopped working. To me, he is the best for Bizzarrini. No doubt about that.
I have no personal interest in anyones cars, you can also note that the site also has positive comments about Diomante's work. My opinion of the two mens work is only from the cars that I have seen personally. Both do great work and have great knowledge on these cars.
Good to hear. But before lecturing people one should clean up his own business.. really!! Promoting a fake car : that's a big problem and it even helps further fake in the future.
I think I didn't express myself very well.. Sorry about that. Anyway, all I wanted to say was that we cannot compare what's not comparable! You cannot compare Diomante who has been working his whole life and who built the car with someone who was selling pieces of furnitures not so long ago. When one was just born, the other was already working.
Correct talent, skill and craftsmanship mean nothing it is age that counts and you can see that in all the great designers, their early work was poor at best, especially Gandini. Maybe thats why I love to sit and listen to all my favorite bands last albums ...
Bizzarrini 314 sold yesterday for $ 784,784, World Record ! Obviously, collectors appreciated his work
