car has FINALLY arrived, but i need some new tires...fronts should be no problem, but rears are a little on the wide side (to fit the group b rear clip!)

    any suggestions?

    front radial 225/50 R 16 bias 8.5/23.3-16
    rear radial 265/45 R 16 bias 11.0/ 25.0-16 to fit 10”wide group B wheel.

    thanks!!

Pirelli was making new manufacture vintage race tires that would fit the 037 a few years ago. You might be able to still get them but they are expensive.

I have Toyo Proxes R888 DOT legal race tires on my Lancia. They were wider than the same size Pirellis I had previously so much that I had to use a spacer to clear my suspension. Tire Rack list 255/50R16 which may fit since it'll likely also be wider and you appear to have the clearance in back if taller. And they look the business.

    WOW! Very cool!

(I would look into installing a rear view camera system like the ones Jim G has installed in his cars... that wing probably gives you 0 rear visibility...)

This weekend. Saturday is the main day and weather will be good after monsoon blows out Friday. Unsure if the Martini Delta is going unless I go get it. Could bring my Montecarlo if i wash it first.

Coker Tire carries the Michelin TB5 tires. You could check their site for sizes and then check Longstone Tyres for prices and see what is the best deal.

Skip looking at TB tires. They only go up to 15".

Very cool car. Are you sure those are the correct tire sizes for the Lancia 037 Stradale? Or is that just what you've decided to run because that is what was on there when you took delivery?

It looks like you have the original Speedline wheels. Original specification for the fronts is supposed to be 16x8 wheels with Pirelli P7 P205/55VR16 size tires. Rears are 16x9 with Pirelli P7 P225/50VR16 size tires. Good luck finding those today. I wouldn't go with the CINTURATO P7. Even though it is a much newer tire than what was originally equipped I think it would be too compromised for the 037.

Pirelli make a nice P7 Corsa Classic rally car tire but not in your sizes. If you don't care about authenticity and just want some sticky tires to drive on the street then I'd choose Toyo Proxes R1R or Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 tires. Both are excellent choices.

A book in my collection 'Racing Lancias - Track, Road & Special Stage' says the front wheels are 15 inch. Front 210/595-15 Rear 265/40-16. The side photo centerfold page confirms that on the Martini works rallycar, the front wheel appears smaller diameter.

I think the stradale versions were different than the works rally cars.

On many counts. But Phil's car has GrB clips on it so not really a stradale.

Just saying and interesting that the fronts were smaller diameter. Most rallycars run different size wheels than their streetcar versions to either clear the brake calipers, for popular size graveltires (most everything for gravel now is 15 inch) and in combination with gearing for acceleration over top speed.

Congratulations on the purchase! What a super looking Lancia Rally 037, and a nice BMW M1 too. That's some real "rare air" in your garage there.

i have group b kevlar front and rear clips, and group b rear wheels, so for those i need much wider tires...! at this point, authenticity is a luxury-the rears are VERY hard to find-i'd just be happy to find some street tires that fit..i do have the stradale front and rear clips too, so i could go back to that and run the normal tires, but the group b clips are just SO cool!

What about the people who vintage rally these in Europe? Or those guys in New Zealand who build the replicas, they might know which ones fit best.

Go for the Pirelli p7 corsa. The started making them again specifically for the Lancia and Abarth rally cars. They are much wider than the 037 stradale ones

Cars & Croissants will do ... but I think he needs tires and maybe some sorting first?

Phil, did you get to drive it once they were finished and before it got shipped?

Please do let us know when it is going to make it's first foray to C&C?

It would be nice to see that one or any of yours at the Le Belle Macchine event June June 20 - 23 at Skytop Lodge this year.
You could easily just drive up for the concours day if you like. It's probably about 1.75 hours from where you'd be starting as long as you left early enough just like C&C. Or stay overnight the day before, after and go to the track as well.
