That's all the money - $174K?? Wow, never thought a car I could have purchased 20 years ago for a song is worth more than my Jag E-Type!

I bet that these 2.4 reach 240K in the next 3 years.
There where only 424 made of these 2.4
They are fun little cars with the look to go with it.

They are entirely different that the 2.0
    Different engine, suspension, transmission, brakes....

It may sound like allot of money, but the restoration on one of these is more like 100K and the engine rebuilt is like 15K.

I'm a big fan, have a few books and fully planned on purchasing one. Went the E-Type and 308 route...and I'm happy with them!

Rims from a flares 246 Ferrari Dino, MSD box, fog lamps, etc. What else isn't original. And for that price? Really?

I saw and drove this car and it looks better in person. I have done some research and locating comparables is not easy nor is finding a car in this condition - dash, wood, engine bay in really good condition. One of the pics of the heating controls on the right side shows the black vinyl is ripped and foam is showing. Is this possible to fix reasonably. One of the sun visors is also in poor condition. Can they be redone/repaired? The seats are in nice condition with a nice petina.
Can anyone tell me what is not original like the electronic ignition, wheels (how big a detriment?)

I understand that prices are rising but the "ask" seems to be reaching but I have not seen one in this condition. I understand it was restored over a number of years prior to 2006.

If I were to go forward with a PPI who would you suggest a Ferrari specialist? The car is in Nassau County (Syosset), New York. I know I'm all over the place but I really like this car.

    Price? Other questions? Help!!

    Thanks for all your help

    Jay

I've seen and driven this beautiful blue car. The car is in very nice mostly restored condition. I need some advice. Price seems very high but prices are rising? Drives nicely and looks wonderful. The car is in Syosset, NY. Who would you recommend to do a PPI

There is a pic of the heat controls which on the right side shows the black vinyl is ripped and foam is showing. One of the sun visors is also ripped. Can they be repaired/replaced.

Originality - Wheels? electronic ignition, anything else? I like cars to be original.

I know I'm all over the place and need some advice and perspective. HELP!!!

    Thanks

    Jay

The price appears in line. There are 2 that just sold in Europe for around 150K and they where not this nice. There 2 more for sale, one in UK a for 125,000 Pound Sterling and that is not correct and the restoration is questionable, there is one coming up for sale in France at auction estimated 160-180 USD
Again these 2.4 with only 424 made!
They are entirely different than the 2.0

Finding a 2.4 is pretty rare, finding a 2.4 fully restored or near perfect condition is practically impossible to find. I am sure in the coming years there will be more coming up that will be properly restored, however the price will also be reflected.

    Also check the passenger door.
There appears to be a difference in color.
Rather than doing a complete re spray.
    They only painted the door?

A common swap in the day and the Campys are to my eye nicer than the Cromos, and far more expensive.
What about the MSD box? You ever run a car on a regular basis with the original Dinoplex (which is fully functional and goes with the car - See Pic).
if you prefer it without the fogs, which have been on since the late '70's, then take them off. :)
    Nothing.
You've seen how many trade in this condition? I'm sure you're also looking for a $45k Turbo Carrera and a $75k BMW Z8, too. I paid pretty close (within 10%) to the asking price for it 2 years ago, fully knowing that I was slightly ahead of the market and after having looked at at every $80-100k pig available.

Thanks for that. It truly does drive well and it's run the Copperstate without a hiccup.

See my response to JCR above

Seven (!) years ago Simon Kidston had one that was restored in non-original color, but very sweet, that I lost out on at $105k. Your info affirms/confirms my purchase AND asking price. Thanks again.

Dinoplex is NOT missing (see pic attached), but car is much easier to run with the MSD box.

No, Iceblue, the whole car had been resprayed and I've got spare paint to color match if ever needed (see pic)

Love the car. It worth the asking price and probably more.
    The owners manual, dinoplex help.
There simply not enough 2.4 around I this condition.
In 3 years this car will be around 240k.

Sorry, but i don't want the MSD, i want the original Dinoplex.
Why you didn't mention it in the adv?

Then buy the car and put the Dinoplex back. I don't get you guys sometimes who have lots of supposed negatives to point out, but have never seen, much less driven the car. Good luck in your personal search. Let me know when you find the "perfect" car and how much it costs you. :)

WOW! Spectacular car.. I love the colour, looks great on the Dino. I remember seeing one in 1990 at a local dealership (Gentry Lane) in yellow going for $30K, but I don't remember if it was a 2.0 or 2.4.

There's a real nice local '72 that shows up to our Italian Car Nights - I love these cars, and I'd certainly own one if I could afford it.

No, not my "...approach to sale", rather my approach to those with an air of superiority, with their noses in the rarified upper atmosphere. Besides, if you're not a prospective buyer, why should I be concerned with what you want?? Thanks for the "...best compliments" and enjoy your "...perfect Dino...." Ciao

So I apologize if this seems like a poach of a beautiful thread regarding the 2.4 Dino, but I rarely see (2.0 or 2.4) Dino posts. I wonder about the posts that say the 2.4 and 2.0 are so different. How lucky are those of you who have been fortunate to have driven both that I need to take advantage of expertise when I can find it? Can someone please compare a 2.0 experience and ownership versus an '89 Mondial. Is the 2.0, which is almost 20 years older technology, really worth twice as much to buy to enjoy the thrill and reliability?
