In the late 80s in Rome, these were considered the height of chic understatement.
What are they worth these days?
    Ferrari V8 engine right?

The value seems to vary quite a lot from what I have seen. This one was high mileage. The first owner was in Germany, so it spent most of its life on the autobahns. When I had it, it was at 200,000 kilometres but ran really well and was reliable. I think it is the 308 engine (not sure) its V8, 32 valve.
As this was high mileage (or kilometres) the value was quite low, I have seen low mileage ones for sale at £8000- £9000.

Nice cars, interiors made by Poltrona Frau, engine is a derivative of the 308 QV engine, but it was built at Laverda or MV, and as far as I know does not have a flat-plane crank and is in quite a iefferent state of tune.

    Best,

    Jack.

If you still have the chance to buy one you should.

I own one of these lovely cars. It is as mentioned a Q car and an elegant one at that. Interior is a massive amount of fantastic leather by Poltrona Frau and walnut panels. Standard interior was a very comfy Alcantara suede. The car had three choices in leather color ; black, dark brown and a lighter shade brown. Alcantara was offered in grey, dark brown and a lighter brown. None of these are "bad" as mentioned by some, just more or less desirable.

Engine has a lovely growl at normal speeds and sounds glorius at high rpm. It revs freely to 7600... :) It is based on the 308 QV engine although with quite a few differences, the most important beeing a 90 dgr crank, smaller valves and a different firing order. All this to give a better low end torque better suited for a 4-door saloon. Displacement is the same as F308 with 2927 ccm. Engine is stamped F105L. And to kill a myth - belts can be done with engine in car... Any mechanic who says otherwise is just after your money.

Mine is a none cat series 1 (1986-88) delivering 215HP at 6750rpm and 285NM at 4500rpm. It does 0-62 in 6.8 sec and tops out at 240 km/h at 6750 rpm. Long enough straight and you'll see 260...
Series 2 (1989-92) has cat and 205HP/264NM-5000rpm and 235km/h. A series 3 was planned but cancelled due to low sales and the competitive Alfa Romeo 164 Q4. It would have had the 328-derivative engine and they also played with a 4WD platform. 2 or 3 prototypes where made. Only the italiens.... :)

These cars have been greatly unappreciated for too long. Look for the nicest you can afford and don't worry about milage. I have seen a few over the years with almost 300K km on the clock and still running strong :)
