At this year's 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Touring did not release any technical details except to say that it is based on the discontinued Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, which sadly means than one 8C has been sacrificed to build this model.
I love the design, the dimensions, everything. Based on donor car, guessing it scoots and sounds amazing too.
The 8c took it's engine from the Ferrari F430. So, maybe not. I'm sure they have plenty of F430 engines hanging around
No it's a Maserati GT 4.7 L F136 V8 mounted in a GranSport chassis with a F1 gearbox. Why on earth they would ruin an 8C for this is beyond me!!
Well it's not ugly, but why would you throw away a rare 8C body. Build it on a Gran Sport chassis and put in a Maserati GT 4.7 motor and F1 gearbox since that's what the 8C chassis is made up of. 8C's are to rare to destroy.
Looks great. It only needs a manual transmission. Burn Baby Burn - disco inferno No parking on the dance floor.
US $500K is an estimate. All seven models will be a different color and have various options, hence the price will vary. Image Unavailable, Please Login

The 8C is not based on a GranSport chassis. It's derived from the Mk5 Quattroporte platform, with a shortened wheelbase - in essence, it's a sibling of the GranTurismo, which, too, is a M139 derivative (the 8C's wheelbase has been shortened more than on the GranTurismo). The 8C and the GranTurismo were developed basically in parallel.
Well you would know as I think you own one. Interesting as I was told it was Gransport based with the newer 4.7 drivetrain. Thanks for the clarification.
As beautiful as the 8C is, I love the Disco Volante cars. I see no problem converting a handful of 8Cs. Thanks for posting.
Your welcome. I agree the cars look beautiful. Sad that some 8C's are being sacrificed, but with fewer units remaining, their value will rise.
