    Why are these things seemingly so dirt cheap as used cars? When I was in So. Cal a few weeks ago, it seemed like one of the more popular sedans in the Laguna Beach area - the Maser and the Tesla.

    Do these cars give trouble? Are they difficult to work on in some way? The prices on these are extremely attractive once they are 4-5 years old. I would be interested in any feedback. Might be fun to drive one of this for a year.

    The early ones had a pretty bad gearbox. It didn't break but it was just poorly suited for the use.

    The later model ones where much better.

    The reason why these are so cheap is the service and repair costs and finding a dealer to fix them. It's just easier to buy a Mercedes or Lexus and not worry about it.

    That being said, they still have one of the nicest interiors in their class.

    I've never seen a car yet that a good independent mechanic can't deal with.
