The ALFAs were one of the most feared and respected cars in racing history, especially pre-war. Driven by legends like Nuvolari, Asacri, Fangio and others.
These wonderful machines were iconic and quite relevant to Ferrari (The first cars to carry the Scuderia Ferrari emblem were all ALFAs) and I think that this marque should have its own title instead of being combined with "other Italian".
    Anyone with me?

I asked Rob about this a few years ago, but it never happened. This forum NEEDS a separate Alfa section! The cars are too important to be grouped with other marques.

Some years ago I started a thread asking for an Alfa section, but can't seem to find it now.

    IMHO, it's a must.

Alfa's are truly unique. You have to own one to understand.

IMO, BMW stole a lot from Alfa when it developed the 2002. Alfa was making sport sedans for the everyday guy well before that.

    Now look at BMW.

The pity was the 1990's when Alfa lost it's way and let the world fly past them. Now it's time to catch up.

I agree Alfa should have it's own sub forum next to Maserati. They are back in North America with some really nice products, so let's make it happen now please.

I agree....having owned 2 of them and lusting after them for years, Alfas are truly unique.

Plus they're back in North America

I also loved the 156, a car everyone else copied in the late 1990's. To bad they did not bring the V6 version over to America. The styling looks normal now, but when new in 1996/1997 it was a trend setter.

I support the idea of an Alfa Romeo section in the forum. I'm interested in vintage Alfas and the new ones too.

I'd like to add support for the Alfa Romeo 'section' and hope to see more discussion and photos of these beautiful cars. I've owned my spider for more than a decade. A car that does everything well and checks all the right boxes :)

Nice photos. The last 2 are 159's, the 3rd from the bottom is a 158. Sometimes tricky to tell especially since they also raced modified 158's in 1951, so vintage old photos are captioned as 159's when they are 158's.

Has anyone talked to the people who can make this Alfa Romeo section happen yet?

    Bob,

A.L.F.A. was before 1920, and no Nuvolari, etc. did not drive them.

Nicola Romeo bought A.L.F.A. in 1915 and changed the name to Alfa Romeo (in 1920) and then the really awesome cars were made especially once Vittorio Jano started designing them and yes Nuvolari, etc. drove these and the rest is history. I'm sure you did not mean to restrict this new thread to the Meresi designed cars as interesting as they were/are ;). Sorry for being picky but its been a tough week.

The 8c2900B is pure automotive art and engineering at its finest. And yes I enjoy my 156v6 and 1750GTV very much :)
    Pete
