Yeah, last May he passed the Rookie test in an Andretti car. Hope he qualifies and can do well running the double header.

I wonder if they'll put a bumper on his car. Perhaps a chrome one?

I don't remember that...just ROP or did he do any practice days?

yep. hopefully "good" interesting, not "trainwreck publicity stunt" interesting.

I think Penske needs to find two spare chassis for DeFerran and Hornish.

    :)

I went to high school with Kurt, knew him well during his so called 'early dominating days'. He never took it seriously, his father was very much behind moving him along, very similar to Tony Hawk really. He struck me as more of a mechanic than anything else. He had none of the intensity and dedication F1 teenagers have. He could have changed that when he got serious with higher end and capable machines, but in his youth he was not exactly what anyone would call dedicated lol.

Additionally, I can't for the life of me deduce how a guy raised in Las Vegas adopted a Carolina accent.

I think he had just 1 practice day, but he went through all 3 phases of the rookie program and put down the required laps greater than 210mph.

This made me think of how different the accents are between Ward and Jeff Burton. Damn I loved to listening to Ward talk.

I think it will be fun to watch KB attempt the Indy 500.

I just hope Hass doesn't get any wild ideas and tries to make DP step down to F1 :D

I think it's great. The addition of JPM, JV, and Busch have gotten me interested. I have become a Kurt Busch fan, especially when he tested the CART car AND when he qualified a NHRA Pro Stock car. I love the idea of multi-disciplined drivers, it's a real throwback.

JPM, JV, and Busch fit that mold. Good luck to them!

Were him and his brother spoiled pricks back then? Or did that happen after they got famous?

Yea, they were great. I posted a pic somewhere with the different chassis from the CART heyday - Lola, Reynard, Swift, Eagle, and there was another, I can't recall.

Penske made their own for a long time...that's the only one I think you're missing.

or maybe March? they were big until the switch to CF occured.

And the March was notable for Newey's influence / design (at least the 85C and 86C).

I always dug the PC23 in Marlboro livery. Miss those days...
