Penske expanding to four car team. F-1 taking notice? Confirmed: Pagenaud to Penske in 2015 | News | Motorsport.com BHW
F1? he's 30. and doesn't bring a budget. so no, I don't think F1 gives a rat's ass.... but great news for Simon, Penske is going to be amazing next year. think 1994.
it will be very interesting to see how Will and Simon interact on and off the track during the course of the season...
ah...I see....I thought you meant "Simon to F1". oops anyway I like the 3 car F1 team idea. seemed to work well for Ferrari in the 50s/60s
My buddy is testing for Schmidt-Peterson. I helped him as small sponsor just a bit for the test day. Hoping he gets picked up for at least a few races for the team beginning next season, if not for the whole season. Will post pics if he sends me some in the next day or two...Penske w/ 4 drivers is going to be a tough team to beat. Indy should really put a cap on any one team's number of vehicle entries.
Perhaps, but if not for Andretti Autosport, Ganassi and Penske fielding three, four or five car teams, the Indy Car grids would look pretty pathetic. Factor in multi-car teams in NASCAR and sports car racing, the trends are moving in that direction while F-1 tepidly toys with the notion as three of their minnow teams teeter on the brink of bankruptcy. correct, if each team was limited to two entries in Indycar, you'd be missing 4-6 top level entries from Indycar for the past decade or so. multiple entries from TCGR, Penske, Andretti have really saved that series from looking like, well, the IRL
Article about my buddy who is testing today for Schmidt at Homestead. You can see my Firm's tiny logo on the car too. Indycar Racing News | Racer.com - IndyCar: Rocky Moran Jr. to test for Schmidt Peterson Motorsport Image Unavailable, Please Login
What is the Justice Brothers? I believe Rocky knows the owners and might be working with them on carting stuff? Rocky and his dad owned Moran Raceway. It was the biggest Karting track in the world I believe, in beaumont, CA. RHR used to race there with Rocky in the off season, etc...you can find a ton of videos on youtube.com if you look up Moran Raceway.
Justice Brothers is the logo to the left of the K1 sticker, they are BIG sponsors of young American racers. ( Justice Brothers ) I knew Rocky was involved in the karting business, wasn't sure if K1 was a part of that. at any rate: any word on how the test went?
Should get some feedback today in a couple of hours...they were doing testing on the infield track only. Yesterday the Indy Lights Champ of 2014 tested all day. Rocky is 34 now, so tough comp with the 21yo Indy lights champ, etc. I should have made the trip out there...
