    schedule released today...

2015 IndyCar schedule officially revealed; 17 races including 12 on NBCSN | MotorSportsTalk

    compressed schedule like last year.

fewer double headers (I kinda like those...)

Fontana moves to June. not sure how much that solves the heat problem...

glad to see NOLA on the schedule. I hope that's a great event.

not glad to see Brazil on the schedule. no reason to leave North America IMHO.

glad no Dubai, that was a stupid idea no matter how big the sanction fee was.

glad to see they worked out a date for Toronto.

I actually really enjoy Indy Car road circuits. Oval's I can appreciate the skill, it just doesn't interest me.

Flights MKE - TOR are fairly cheap if the two race things come back.

Nice! I may look into making a trip to watch the Detroit race.

    I dislike the double header.

The only reason is it seems almost like a "I'll try again tomorrow" deal. Sure we see more racing but the process and anticipation of Friday - Saturday and finally RACEDAY (not sunday).

That is just me of course.

Wasn't there some conflict with the Toronto event due to some Pan Am Games (or whatever)
scheduled to take place there at the time?

There was talk for a while that they were going to shift the Toronto race (which is usually
little more than a crash derby) to Mosport.

Maybe Rob Ford got it sorted out before he left office. I'll drink to that, ha!

at first that was my thinking too, but two shorter races on consecutive days was a great show on street circuits.

yes, the traditional Toronto date has been mid July which conflicts with the PanAm games so it was moved ahead a month or so. I think Mosport was just a bargaining chip with the city of Toronto. a moot point now but Rob Ford was a big proponent of the race (and from what I gather not very amused with the costs associated with the PanAm games)

They get a good turn-out for the Toronto race dating back to the CART days.

But, for the life of me, I can't understand it because that has to be the most consistently
crash prone track ever. They've done nothing to alter the circuit to prevent the inevitable
    pileups that occur.

Too bad they don't go to Mosport. At least it would be fun to watch the Indy Cars at speed
there rather than following behind the pace car all day.

the casual fan goes *because* it's a crash prone track. carnage sells.

I agree on Mosport but even with all their recent upgrades, i don't see IndyCar going there due to safety issues (runoff, or lack thereof).

plus IndyCar seems most interested in being in city centers, or near perimeters to such (Fontana, Sonoma, etc).

btw fun fact, Sonoma is closer to downtown SF than Fontana is to downtown LA.

also, today marks the 15th anniversary of Greg Moore's death.

    what could have been....

how many championships? how many Indy 500 rings? what a dynasty he and Roger would have built.

Yawn! No Laguna, PIR, or Road America. Dubai?? Are you kidding me?? Glad cooler heads prevailed on that one.

    Brazil - why?

As long as the Hulmans are in charge, it will fail.

It's a street circuit wih tight walls but why the "most crash prone"? Any stats to prove this?

Mosport would be cool to watch though. Double header with one at each track :D

The real question about Indy Car is will it survive until the rules change slated for 2019-2020. The ships bow is in the water......now how long before it goes under?

Hi.....Back in full glory shortly!!! :)
