I do feel sorry for the kids with illustrious fathers; there is so much expectation on theit shoulders.

A famous name can open doors initially, but very few sons are actually successful in emulating their father's carreer.

Because the managers are hoping for a hero and push them up the ladder in all the best cars. Unfortunately always driving the best cars is NOT how their fathers learnt their art, they learnt driving rubbish and finding speed within themselves ...

MS spent hours and hours lapping his kart track on second hand tyres, that is what made him special.

Good luck Mick but does he live and breathe this sport for himself or just like it because of a Dad?

    :).

Hmmm, driver managers are hoping to make $'s from the son. They do not really care about the person, they are just a meal ticket. Just because you are the son of a top racing driver does not mean you are any good. Obviously Mick would have plenty of money at his disposal which means the cars will be top flight, likely masking his true ability and also not helping him develop the skill like his Dad did.

One of the reasons MS was so good is he did not have good equipment at his disposal when he was young and instead found the speed from himself ... you cannot do that in a top flight car.

Yes, but before hitting a barrier you are supposed to let go the steering wheel for this reason. Pity Michael is not there to teach him these important things.

Most everyone who gets in an open-wheel racecar knows to release the steering wheel before impact, so I'm sure Mick has the knowledge. But knowing something and doing it in the heat of a racing accident are two very different things. I hope he heals quickly and gets back to the front soon.
