Some GoPros and mics were hooked up to this car for some intense footage. Kudos to this young man for accomplishing this at such a young age. Hell, I didn't even get my driver's license until I was 17!

No big deal. Most racing kids from Indiana are in these things at that age. Too bad Indy Car doesn't see the talent they offer.

Youth are capable of a lot if we didn't tie most of them down in our system until their youth is gone.

Agree. We are the source of many problems. Kids just seem to gravitate to things they like and normally excel at them. Adults just get in the way of them doing what they love simply because we didn't get or take the time to indulge in our passions until it is or was too late.

The thing I most take away from the video is that IRP (or whatever they're calling it these days) needs to repave their oval!

I love watching this sprintcar/midget racing on ovals.
My regret is that it never took off in Europe.
It's one of the purest forms of racing, in my opinion.

Join us here in the states. These things are all over. But the best racing is in the midwest. Lots of tracks and all kinds of action. A fun time is had by all.

I have seen sprint racing for the first time in California in the 90s.

That would probably be my prefered form of racing if I was in the States.

I really like that statement. Before kids reach their teens, they naturally gravitate toward things they enjoy because they are not drilled in the head with a bunch of "you can't do that" statements. As they get older, their dreams get tainted by statements like "you'll never achieve that" or "who do you think you are?" After hearing that 1,000 times, they start doubting themselves and stop pursuing their dreams. That's how people end up with low standards and ONLY striving to pay the bills and put food on the table. When they look for a job, all they look for is a steady paycheck, insurance, retirement, ect because they don't believe they can do better.
