These are fresh from the Track. Thursday Oct 1. 2015. Temp was about 68 degrees, spitting rain on and off. But never enough to we the grass, as It was already wet.
Risi #62 was running fast and tight. Seems we only have 3 cars in the Event. And the last year for Falken Tire team to race. Hot shoe Patrick Long was co driving. He is the youngest driver to ever win 24hrs Daytona, LeMans, and Sebring. Patrick is the only Porsche Factory driver from America. But, for some reason he is not in a factory car much. Jan is there with the Corvette #3. The the #01 with 2 out of the 3 drivers names are Scott. That is hard around the pits when you just say "Hey Scott..."
The Lambo (lame bro) race was close at the end, but before the end of the first lap a massive crash put out a red flag for a long time. Then they started up again. Expensive track time. I think maybe just cancel that series..........
Tomorrow is 89% chance of rain, and saturday 100% chance. So................ this may have been the last dry day of the Racing year for Tudor Cars.

Do the Taylor Boys in #10 have anything left in the Tank to bring it hard to the two Scott boys in the #01 Car.

The poor Lambos just could not get their heads on straight. It will be anybody's guess if they qualify on a wet cold track. High temp tomorrow , maybe 61 Degrees.

Looks like rain for the race and cool temps, but I am still looking forward to being there. My friend owns the #10 DP team, so watching from the pits and cheering his kids on....should be a great race. Thanks for posting the pics.

Those Taylor Boys are tough. I will be there tomorrow and Saturday rain or shine.
How touchy are these cars in the rain. Will it be like NASCAR, and don't run, or like F1 they go out anyway.

What ever happened to the car the Brumos was putting their logo on. It is listed as there, but I have not seen it since the 24hr of Daytona with Dempsey driving. Hurley told me they were waiting to get things on the new rules and cars sorted out.... but that was a while ago.

it was 37, but we've lost the Performance Tech PC car due to crash damage this morning and possibly the Shank P2 to damage in night practice.

5, although the rest of the Prototype field are the two Mazdas, the DW, and the Shank car which may or may not make the race.

sad that Prototype racing has gone to hell in a hand basket with IMSA. I miss ALMS :(

to that point, DW is almost certainly not returning next year in P (possibly in a GTD car with a different Panoz chassis), I'm assuming the Ganassi DP is gone with the new GTLM cars, and I'm not sure what Mazda is doing. so we could see a 5-6 car P field next year, and it's possible they'll all be DPs. :(

believe it or not, I actually like this plan....it uses the approved FIA/WEC P2 chassis (so no more tube frame prototurtles), but allows for engine/manufacturer identity and support (to keep Chevy in the game ;))

it actually solves my big gripe with the new P2 standard, the spec engine. Only problem I see is that with different engines and potentially bodywork, it will be difficult and expensive to cross over from IMSA to WEC especially on a one race basis.

Wait.....Falken is not racing next year? When was that announced?

I, too, am puzzled about Patrick Long's whereabouts......heard he had a baby early in August/late July.

nope, no Falken :( it was announced fairly early this season. not sure what happens to Walker Racing and/or that RSR.

Pat and his wife did have a boy in late July! he's been contracted to Dempsey/Proton for the full WEC series (with some success, including a GTE-Am podium at LM24) and doing the NAEC for Falken. will be interesting to see where he ends up next year, I'd love to see him back in the factory NA team.

Okay, as long as you understand it.

I've read and re-re-read the press release and completely lost the plot.

Is this all in keeping with ACO rules or what?

the press release and naming could have been better, yes.

it's ACO rules in terms of chassis-the P2 cars have to be approved by the FIA/WEC (i.e. the 4 chosen manufacturers, Dallara, OnRoak, Oreca and Riley/Multimatic), but there will be engine and bodywork differences for IMSA, and of course tires and BoP. so the cars will effectively be very different.

IIRC, the Walker/Falken team is moving over two PWC.

So, effectively, Falken is out. Too bad because the paint scheme on those
    cars is beautiful.

btw, BMW and Rahal will be back next year with a GTLM spec M6.

great to see that program staying together.

I talked to the Team guys today. They said the money would be spent in other places and not on the Track, they were moving to baseball, to be on all the Fences. Those people buy tires too. And Wayyyyyyy more people watch baseball than this series I afraid.

This was poor Pat Long in qualifying by the 2nd lap hit the wall.

This was the Porsche Platz. or Porsche Splat.

What a mess and it smells really bad, and is really slick. Taking in the 4x4 tomorrow.
Saturday is going to be more rain than today.

I already have Rot Foot from the water. I sat out in it all day with my sister...... crazy.
