BIG crash!! Glad he is ok. :)

I have to work tomorrow, but am strongly considering blowing the shift so I can watch the "great race". :)

Everyone knows Mount Panorama is no place for Sheila's!

Seriously, this is a hugely important race and a track where F-1 or WEC should
    consider moving.

Damien Flack had a big crash today after apparently getting punted on the Conrod straight by his brother.

here's what's left of the car:

    Lol, you're not wrong. :p

JB did it in his McLaren back in 2011 and set the fastest lap time ever.

Watch the vids, that engine sounds amazing! :)

Was a massive crash!! Glad to hear he is ok, looked scary at the end there when the car caught fire.

    Some slow-mo action here-

Saw Flack's shunt overnight as it's being reported all over the place. He's going to be
    sore for a few weeks.

Not sure if it was in this forum or not but when I had suggested Mount Panorama as
a possible F-1 or WEC venue, someone said that the track is an FIA Tier-2 or Tier-3
circuit and there would have to be some major upgrades in order to host the a Grand
    Prix or WEC event.

Guess it's right though as there have been some massive shunts there over the years.
Recall one in particular where an Australian Tour Car hit the wall which split the fuel cell,
gas went all over the place and ignited as other cars went streaming through the ensuing
    inferno.

Hope the Sheila's do well today. Isn't Simona de Silvestro on that team?

I've probably attempted 100 or so laps on this place in iRacing. I think I've strung together 2 consecutive laps without crashing. This place would scare the **** out of me in real life. Seriously hard and seriously big balls for these guys. Nothing but respect there.

It's actually a street track and is an open road throughout the year.

Well, it can be booked for track events and track days, but when it's open anyone can drive.

You have to adhere to the speed limits of a public road of course.

My Brother was lucky enough to drive it in a work car a few months ago.

Work car was a slow 4WD work ute, but he said it was still very cool.

We live thousands of miles away, hopefully one day I will make it down there to drive it also.

It's getting on a touch late now, there were some drives floating around a little while back for the production 6hr at Easter. License for an O/S driver might be a stumbling block perhaps.

The perils of bump drafting in the Aussies, manager was expecting to make a death announcement!
