    So, i've been thinking about a R5 Turbo road car and found this youtube video. These look like Madmen! Are these big in Europe and other parts of the world? Not a lot of room for error, and they seem to run anything, and damn fast. I suppose Pikes Peak would be classified as a hill climb? Any other famous US Hill Climbs?

    There are hill climb events in the U.S. other than Pikes Peak.

    These are more in the mountainous areas of the country like Pennsylvania and out
    west I'm guessing.

    It occurred that I ran an article on a hill climb event in Pennsylvania a fews years
    ago. Looked up Pennsylvania hill climb and got his website, a club that puts on
    several hill climbs per year, looks as though the SCCA sanctions them.

    Ran it for about ten years when I owned my Ferrari(s). First the 348, then the 355 and finally the 360.

    Got some onboard videos somewhere; I'll have a search around. Great event.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Here we go;

    With apologies for the squealing tires; Fixed that with a set of Toyo's subsequently.

    *Not* a place to make a mistake.

    Best time of 3:38. Anything under 4 minutes is pretty darn good though.

    I believe the record is just over 3 minutes in a modified F40.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Dayum! Posted without looking at it again. [Watched it way too many times when overlaying the data etc!] But;

    - Can't believe it's nine years ago! :eek:

    "The older I get, the faster I was....."

    - Just remembered the G/F's comment at the end. "I thought you were going to beat it by a second!" Also reminded me that even though she's maybe a 100lbs (soaking wet) she cost me about 5mph in top speed by the end of the straight. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian
