Winglets to be banned from MotoGP at end of 2016 season

Good common sense prevailed at last.

The FIM has outlawed the winglets on MotoGP after banning them on MotoGP3 and MotoGP3 earlier this year.

If the FIA had banned aeros in motor racing as soon as they appeared in the 60s, we wouldn't have the present mess that requires constant legislation to keep up with development. Beside, it would have save $millions on wind tunnel, research and constant aero updates.

And road cars would be far less efficient through the air than they are today!

(I am glad the wings are being banned in Moto GP as they look awful! Down-force inducing aero fairings will probably appear now though! - Once Pandora's box of aero technology is opened! )

    Lame.

Aero concepts in Motogp could have developed into something really interesting. Instead FIM want to dilute innovation further.
