    It's a bit late but, yesterday was the day Henri Toivonen died, to me and to many the fastest ever rally driver, surely the more gifted one, the Gilles Villeneuve of rallying.
    It was during the 1982 corsica rally, when he went of in his Delta S4...i know most american folks are not that much atacched to rally, but for the europe folks he was a legend.
    RIP Henri, you were simply the best

    Anyone in America that truly follows racing know exactly who Makinen and Toivonen were,
    and we have immense respect for both.

    +1 - Toivonen was absolutely a known name to racing fans in the States.

    The way he won the Monte-Carlo rally of this 1986 year was incredible.
    RIP for a true rally legend.

    I was lucky enough to buy one of his Ford Escort Works Rally Cars from the Ford Competition Department in the UK. It was a fantastic car which I drove in many rallies until I crashed it in Dalby forest in Yorkshire. When I got it, it had Henri Toivonen and Henry Liddon's name on both front wings.
    Loved that car, wish I had kept it!
